The structure and feel of the editor is much like on MophoEd. As this is a 4 part multitimbral synth i need to have a few different pages in it, but my goal is to keep it tidy and easy to edit. Which in turn means that for example all sound controls are on the same page.

BTW....just wondering...will this VSTi editor also allow the Venom to be used as a hardware VST plugin like the Lexicon MX verbs?

Oh my god...$183 on Amazon with Amazon Prime. Just bought one. Couldn't resist it. Total with tax was $197.

To mkdr - i'll gladly throw in a donation via Paypal in support of the VSTi editor - this is great news that you are developing it. Also look forward to the availability of new patches for reasonable costs. Mine will be here Monday. I can't wait. That's my birthday too. Bonus birthday present. The patches from patchadams sound very very good. Very warm and lush sounding. I think I will buy those too.

Right there with you. I took the plunge! It has issues from what I can tell, but it looks like those can be worked around...

I'll second that, I don't think the original presets sound very good but that Sonic boost demo sounds better.

This keyboard was such a good deal, I don't mind adding some professional sounding presets to get it sounding great.

It will be awesome just having a kick butt, hardware synthesizer for change.

Who would've thunk it!

I can't buy this from amazon in Canada!! Very irritating . Such a great price it's pretty much a no brainier. I don't really need another synth and or controller but would love to take it for a spin anyways. Lame

Even as it was out of the box it was a no brainer for me. You could easily spend that much on just a controller. And yeah, the factory presets might have been fine for dubstep kiddies but they didn't do much for me. Patch's bank is sounding really good for my purposes. I've bought it....can't hardly wait for the release!
Also have high hopes for mkdr's VSTi editor. All in all about the best $200 I've spent on gear!

I've ran into some trouble with the synth. I can't seem to get it to respond reliably to CC messages. Sending simple commands some times seems to work and rest of the time doesn't. It's literally all over the place. Even the Vyzex editor only uses Sysex when communicating with the synth. I can do that too no prob, but it takes so much more bandwidth. And i wan't to automate stuff!

Could anyone check how their Venom responds to CC messages and confirm this? Is it just simply not reliable.. or am I doing something wrong?

can the synth be ran using midi cables? or are you still using the usb? would this method work, i noticed a setting by pressing edit/a certain note key on the synth itself and the options where 'key' or 'usb', didn't know what that was for.

There are some issues, I ran into some while just designing sounds for it.

I was able to reset it to get the CC messages working again.

Venom lets you do a soft reset or a hard reset.

Soft Reset
A soft reset restores all Global parameters to their default settings. A soft reset will not delete your custom
stored Single, Multi, and Pattern presets.

To perform a soft reset:

Press and hold both OCTAVE buttons simultaneously while powering Venom on.
Hard Reset

A hard reset restores all Global parameters and User Banks (presets) to the factory default settings. Note that
you will lose any custom stored Single, Multi, and Pattern presets when performing a hard reset.

To perform a hard reset:

Press and hold the Multi and Single buttons simultaneously while powering Venom on.

Thats it, keep this in mind as it can solve some issues that simply turning the synth ON/Off will not.
