Shame on you, KVR.
This sums up a lot of threads on KVR I'm afraid. There are far too many numpties who spend their lives at KVR and often ruining what could be interesting threads.. it would be crazy to suggest that they actually make some music instead. 8)

I don't think anybody hates him, but it's hard not to poke fun at a guy who endorses seemingly everything under the sun, and makes a caricature of himself doing so.
Also: Dream Theater. The name says it all. No offense to all the Dream Theater fans here... but you're totally wrong. They're crap!

What a boring world/internet this would be. No discussions no controversies no suggestions for improvements, no reviewers. Where would we be if we close our eyes and accept all what we dislike or like.

I know this goes a bit too far and is a bit philosophical but what emoticons can say :smack: :idiot: , we can always...

Thanks to the guy who posted the Youtube video.

I was hoping he was going to demo the oscillators and filters in isolation but either way the synth has a pretty good sound to it.

Kinda reminds me a bit of Loomer Aspect which I tried the other day and also has a very suprisingly good sound to it.

Oh and with regards to the Rudess mocking, I see the photoshopping more of a "teasing" and friendly mockery, in contrast to outright calling him something nasty or whatever. All I really know about him is he's a passionate and accomplished keyboard player and he endorses lots of products :D

Why are people hatin' on the hatin'

Besides, other than a couple of light and harmless jokes, it's mostly on-topic.

A lot of hatin' by people who haven't even tried the synth. That's not "what a forum is," it more like what KVR is

Quite interesting i am a bit lured...but 99 bucks is too expensive.
I don't mind the video, it sounds 'OK' to me and it seems like a nice little VA. I'm a big fan of one-screen-interfaces. The advantage I see is it will be upgraded forever in all major formats.

People giving their opinion that they think it isn't offering something new or innovative hardly is hatin'

Btw, go to any political forum and people will be arguing endlessly and most of them have no experience with politics at all! At least most of us here actually use synths! :)

Waaah!
People are discussing stuff on a discussion forum again!!!

Ok, my curiosity knows no bounds. After jumping through some hoops, giving out my details and installing a bit of bloatware, here I am with the Element demo.

I haven't looked at the presets, I'm just messing with the init patch, but so far I'd say it was "good".

Yep, just "good". Filter knob is very steppy, or if not steppy, then it updates funny; It gives uneven sound in live tweaking. While this isn't important to the sounds that wind up in tracks (the envelopes and LFOs usually are smooth even if the filer knob isn't), it *does* affect how a synth feels when you interact with it. And how you feel affects the sounds you create. In fact, all knobs are like this. The parameters either move smoothly but very slowly, or they jerk about the place. Getting a smooth sweep is like playing one of those Steady Hand games. It's horrible >_<

The oscillators do have an EQ scoop by default, as someone already pointed out. The filter sounds OK but comes into it's own more when you use the envelopes, which are excellent. The filter has FM and the LFOs can go well into audio rates.

Well, it's got a week to impress me, now :D . Personally for low-CPU analog stuff I've got Saurus, and to my ears that has bags more character, and Diva on a good day with a nice chunk of CPU in her belly just blows this away. Maybe my mind will change?

Looks like it is getting more difficult not to purchase Element for me... :)
That price corresponds to around 58 Euros (!!) which seems to be a real bargain.

Almost a week of time for the demo left but i'm tempted to get this offer.

Ooooooh! I don't know what's taking Waves so long to issue my authorization, but hopefully something happened and it got lost in the shuffle. If so, I'm buying it from you, and quite possibly the L3-16 sooner than I had anticipated.
