Damn that "demo version" voice made me laugh very loud
That is terrible isn't it? ;) I was demoing One, that why I brought it up - I much rather have some noise inserted or a time limitation.

I dont mind, its funny (though terrible for sure) - but at least we didnt have to register anywhere to try the demo :)

I'd really like to browse through Element's presets on my own, but I dont want to risk breaking my One Knob installation

Why do you think that would happen? I have the free oneknoblouder, plus a few other Waves plugs, installed Element and all is still fine.
The process is complicated, but other than that, it works really well.

Not one peep in this thread yet I think
Why do you need them?

Try the demo yourself, dont be so fuckin lazy. Other ppls sound demos are gonna be very subjective anyway, so pretty much useless.[/list]

Because on my system, standard OKLouder installation was crashing my both DAWs until I made additional steps and I'm not convinced Element is worth the risk of having to made those steps again.

What IOS business is this? Curious to know...

Just bought this baby.

Been waiting for a decent price for the Sylenth1, never got it, waited all over the holidays, nadda, zip.

This synth looks like a great alternative and should fill that VA/Slyenth gap for me pretty nicely...

For that price -- $75.65 @ JRR -- you can't go wrong IMO!

It's basically a half price Sylenth from a quality company that ain't going anywhere.

Edit: P.S. Thanks JRR! Nice doing business with you, my first time, no problems at all

Can't say this about Elements for sure, but Waves itself can be awesome once in a while. As I logged in to my account to try out Elements on laptop too, I had a "special one time" offer waiting for one of their most expensive single plugins for a price... :-o :o well, I had to pick up my eyeballs from the table. Must be a biggest discount I have ever received on anything in my life.

Waves, all is forgiven for releasing such a lacklustre VA synthesizer. :hihi:

Hi All,

My name is Guy Rotem. The Element synthesizer is the culmination of a 2 years collaboration between the talented folks at Waves and myself.

I hope some of you find Element a useful and inspiring instrument.

If you have questions, feel free. I'll be happy to try and answer.

Hi Guy,

welcome here at KVR. Nice to see the developer of this fine synth posting here.
I have noticed your name at the about page of Element.

I started testing Element yesterday and liked it from the first minute and today i have purchased it at JRR Shop.

I just finished a sound design project for Tone2 Rayblaster and started using Element now. Have not finished testing all presets now (there are some really nice ones) as i started programming it myself.
while also the basic sound is awesome i am currently checking the advanced features like FM, SineMod and PhaseMod. Just combined all of those in a single preset. Will try to post an audio demo soon.

If i find some time i am thinking about doing a soundbank for Elements

BTW i just noticed that the "Ø" symbol in the mod matrix is for switching the value in the matrix slot from positive to negative. reading the manual helps sometimes... :)

Best wishes,
Ingo

O.K. Guy here goes... First of all I love this synth. Has a really nice gritty dare I say: "analog type" sound to it... Ha! But I wa wondering how to apply the sequencer to parameters? Maybe I missed that in the dropdowns...

Thanks. (Nice job)!

He has made some pretty neat apps that take advantage of the touch surface. He is porting them to Metro apps too. I saw a nice demo of the capabilities of a large touchscreen windows 8 tablet and some very nice playable features.

He puts them out at a decent app price too. Seems to be a real synth enthusiast, accomplished musician, developer, etc. based on someone else's post on this thread about meeting the guy and his want to talk synth stuff in a friendly manner to another synth enthusiast, I questioned why all the haters.

I guess poking fun isn't so bad in a friendly way as long as it is established it is just harmless poking fun at. I'm sure he might get a chuckle out of some of the photoshop stuff if he's truly cool.

I just have been through so many years of listening and playing alternative styles that are less listened to and hearing people scream sellout or endorsement whore as soon as a little mainstream success happens, that I find it a little ridiculous to instantly make them a target of negativity.

KVR is full of it though.
Tarnce haters
Dumbstep haters
Endless debates on who is a real musician and who is not or the stupid "anyone can push buttons and make that kind of music" arguments from close-minded people. A DJ or remix artist is not showing any talent, ad nauseum.

So stupid.

Example -
Guy #1 - what is your instrument?
Guy #2 - Let's see, turntable, sampler, drum machine.
Guy #1 - Those arent real instruments. I play keyboards.
Guy #2 - Oh, so you press longer white and black buttons to trigger samples in a musical way with a lot of muscle memory and some creativity involved?

Just choose "Sequencer" as a mod source and assign it to the mod destination you like. The sequencer should be set to "off" or it will also modulate the pitch/notes. With the "Ø" switch in the mod matrix you could choose the direction for the modulation (Positive = grey, negative = yellow color).

Thanks for posting Guy. Really enjoying Element. The more I play with it the more I like it. Very musical and intuitive. Love the shape knobs for the envelopes!

Can you explain about Virtual Voltage Technology? Is it basically a subtle phase and tuning modulation to the oscillators or is there something more to it than that?

Post

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
Ingo, It would be great if you make a soundbank for Element - the more the merrier :)
DHR53, Ingo's answer is spot on.
Actually, the ability to use the sequencer as a mod source was one of the last additions to Element.
Please note that using the sequencer as a mod source will give you a quantized (steppy) modulation - great for some things, not so great for others.
