If you read my last post correctly i found that e.g. in Orion 8.5 the WaveShell VST is recognized but not the Element plugin. this was also mentioned here:

The Telenator wrote:Hey all, I liked this thread better back a couple of pages when you were arguing about which plugin folder and kriminal refused to state where he installed it.

And don't ask what folders I keep my plugins in, because that nobody's business but mine.
About asking for installation paths:

I did not ask because i wanted to "spy" on your system of someone but because the installation of Element requires two different installation locations. One for the Waves v9 software and one for the vstplugins folder.

In the vstplugins folder you'll only find the Waveshell 9.2 VST 8latest version) but not the Element DLL. The Element dll is included in a special folder inside the Waves v9 installation folder (usually: .../Program Files/Waves). It was the location of that folder i asked for.

Aynway if Kriminal really used Orion as a host (like he seemed to do in the past based on my knowledge) than the problems seems to be based on the host.
As the Standalone seems to work in his case there don't seems to be a general problem with his system, the installation or with the license.

I already asked about the host yesterday but no reply except accusing me to "force my help" on him.

That's all i wanted to point out. No more, no less. it's really funny how people manage to think that i got bad intentions even if this is obviously not the case.
The Telenator wrote:Or do you have to buy yet another $1000 bundle to get it? I just spent my whole Waves budget for this month. Got the $900 (on sale!) bundle of the seven different Reverb Tails Reverb Units collection, even comes with a time-stretch plugin that only works on Waves and only on Waves reverb tails. Exclusive or what, huh?
Nope. You could get Element for around 75$ (JRR Shop) or less without need for any bundle. Anyway i guess it is included with the Mercury bundle.

Again. YOU need to CREATE yourself that shelled DLL.

Just drag the "WaveShell-VST 9.2.dll" or "WaveShell-VST 9.2_x64.dll" over the Shell2VST.exe or shell2vst64.exe. It will ask you to point it to the "Waves\Plug-ins" folder. And than it will create for every Waves Plugin a shelled version (if you have any other installed). If you need only the Element Plugin shelled, than you can delete the other ones.

After that, RESCAN again your VSTPlugins folder and than it will be recognized by any VST Host on your system as a proper VSTi Instrument. That means the seperate shelled Element plugin.

Is it just me, or does WAVES have a problem?

I signed up for the One Knob freebie on black Friday, and never received an e-mail back to download it.

I wrote an e-mail asking why and if the offer was still available. No response.

<<<EDIT _ UPDATED _ WAVES HAS RESPONDED TO THIS ISSUE>>>

When Element came out last week, I eventually went through all the sign up nonsense (Creating accounts, downloading installers, etc) and at some point I'm sure I clicked must have clicked the 'Get Demo' button - but it never downloaded. I went back in last night to download it and it said I had already auditioned it.

What gives?

I suppose it wasn't very likely I was going to buy it given what I have already along the same line, but there are two times now I've tried to get a Waves product and have not been able to complete the deal.

Disappointing.

I did not need to do this for using Element in e.g. Ableton Live 8 or Reaper 4 (BTW element is my first Waves plugin).
It was also not me that had a problem with the VST. I just found there is a problem with using it in the Orion host (checked with the demo version of Orion). You could have a look here:
http://forum.synapse-audio.com/viewtopi ... dd32645142

I will not try to do the way you proposed and risk a problem with my Element installation just to prove you are right. Those who got problems (like e.g. Kriminal) could try it themselves.

BTW i have not found a Shell2VST.exe in the installation folders. Do i have to select that from the list of the Waves v9 installer?

UPDATE:
Searched at Waves but Waves2Shell.exe seems to be a 3rd party software:
http://repforums.prosoundweb.com/index. ... 035.5;wap2

People that got problems could use it but i'll not destroy a working installation.

If you click on "get demo" it means it is inside you Cloud. If you have not activated the demo it will still be available for the full time.

You have to download the Waves v9 software first (either the online or offline version):
http://www.waves.com/content.aspx?id=96

This includes installers for all waves plugins. at the installation you have to choose the Waves License Center (first entry) and eleemnt from the single plugins list.

After installation you open the Waves License Center and enter your login data (same as for your account). Then you could move the license from your Cloud to a hard disk or an USB flash drive (no dongle, a usual drive).

If you get the license code for the full version you'll have tzo register that with your account and the license will appear in the Cloud. You could then send the demo license back to the Cloud and send the full license to the drive you like.

For me it works very easy to activate, test or do other stuff with this new mechanism. I got my serial for the free one knob after a short time and could register it on the Waves site (Afaik the waves license center application has no option to register a full version? I have only used it to activate demo versions and move licenses to the cloud).

@jalcide Dammmmn! I love it, thanks for producing this, sounds the business.

Ohh... that throbbing bass... ummm... yummy..

Thx! You can make some pretty nice electro kicks in it, turns out. I was really surprised how well the synthesized closed hi-hat was, too. Like Slyenth, it seems to be really good at forming those detailed and snappy transients/attacks.

Yeah, gonna make it full-length, a few more instrument parts, risers, builds, noise effects, several drops, etc. (all with Element, just for fun). :D

Thanks! The bass is two layered Element instances, PlasticBass and ResoBass. EQ, compression, sub-grouping, more glue bus compression and some emulated console saturation. :)

I had to remove the link from the pic because its a 'bad' site, but the people there say its true. If it IS true then this must be the funniest thing ever...for several reasons.

I don't see any funny thing about that and the part about SynthEdit is simply not true.

Thats OK. You dont have to. :)

Ingonator wrote:and the part about SynthEdit is simply not true.
How do you know?

Did you check everything?

Apparently they have found something 'in the code', and that sounds believable, because SE DLLs usually DO contain some references to SynthEdit in cleartext.

(I dont have the files, otherwise i would check myself.)

it's done with LEGO Technic, maybe.

How can you be so sure? I mean that download is not even sure to be what it pretends. Maybe it's a virus. :) I would believe Wave write their software themselves instead of using "standard SynthEdit components". xD

Unless i didn't get the irony in your post, excuse me then. :)
