global vibrato not working in Rhino?

I was searching through the factory rhino banks for a nice lead to fit a track I'm working on. Ok, found it: Mini Lead from the Monosynth bank. Now I need to add some vibrato. Ok, link a controller to the vibrato depth slider... Ok, nothing happens. Sliders at 0 or 100 still no vibrato.
There is a global pitch env /w vibrato by default on this patch, so I can't understand why its not working. On other leads in the bank the vibrato depth control works fine.

Hehe, that's an easy one
For Daniel's "MiniLead" preset, the vibrato depth amount is controlled by aftertouch, as defined by the "Vib.aft" curve on the vel/aft display (in any one of the osc pages - it is a global control that applies to the global pitch env curve).
Since this curve is set to linear, ranging from 0 to 1, you won't hear any vibrato if you don't bring aftertouch in. Just set this curve to a flat 1 value to hear it.
Happy programming,

Also, note that this preset has aftertouch control for the cutoff amount - this enables lovely effects if you have an aftertouc-enabled controller.

Thanks Tick. That did the trick. I never thought of AT - cause my keyboard doesn't support it :/

My theory behind programming is that vibrato is not always the most interesting parameter to control with a wheel or mod lever. Using AT to take care of vibrato allows your main CC device (if assigned to the upper left User Slider) to make more drastic changes in sound while playing.
In my last two banks (BnB & Morpheous) several parameters are assigned to slider1 so that in some cases you can control volume and timbre together as an acoustic instrument would. Or you can crossfade two different sounds or increase FM...
If your controller doesn't support AT simply assign your MW (or whatever) to the vibrato slider and reprogram the patches to not use AT in this way. Then assign a data slider or other CC to slider1.
If slider1 has vibrato assigned to it, find another useful parameter and assign it there. Remember to save the modified patch and then the bank before quitting or changing banks.
