OK, thanks for clarifying the latest version
Is it 20 minutes demo time in total, or 20 minutes per session?4damind wrote:Demo time has been extended to 20 min

when i first got saurus, i thought it was cool, but didn't really use it. just updated it, been playing with it...and it's now formally a part of my arsenal. am impressed that tone2 keeps updating their plugins..

I didn't bought it when it was released, had enough other VA and expected a bit more analog sounding synth ... Bought it later and now use it very often (more than Massive or my Virus synth)fisherKing wrote:when i first got saurus, i thought it was cool, but didn't really use it. just updated it, been playing with it...and it's now formally a part of my arsenal. am impressed that tone2 keeps updating their plugins..

This is a cool update with many great improvements but as a sound design guy who spends quite a lot of time refining tiny details of presets this update would drive me crazy.
Stuff like this:
- Enhanced sound of boost
- Enhanced sound of 24dB filter
- Enhanced sound of feedback
- Enhanced sound of sync
- Enhanced sound of unison in poly16 mode
- Enhanced sound of OSC noise
- Enhanced Legato
- More punchy sound
- Slighly enhanced shape of volume envelope
Basically breaks all presets, maybe just by some tiny amount in some cases, but it would drive me crazy
Or is there some kind of "1.0 mode"?
Cheers
Dennis

For me it is since around 8-9 months now...Numanoid wrote:Is it your go-to-synth?fisherKing wrote:and it's now formally a part of my arsenal.
Nice to see that this fine synth finally gets some praise here.

Fine synth is getting better.
It's a beauty to patch on your own. I got my up for sale now though. It's not that I don't like it. I actually like the raw OSC character and filters pretty much and the instant, good sound. Just need to finance some other, more appealing stuff right now.

That will be a boring story, honestly...Numanoid wrote:Curious, what is thatemotica wrote:some other, more appealing stuff right now.
Well "more appealing" is totally up to my preference in this moment in time, not because something does what Saurus does better (well, not in that sense at least).
I tried to make a switch to plug-ins already in 2009. Went down the G.A.S. train badly.
Now this time, I try to learn from my experience and keep a decent, little setup before I buy 10 synths (again).

it is in the GROUP of go-to synths (about 5-7 total)...Numanoid wrote:Is it your go-to-synth?fisherKing wrote:and it's now formally a part of my arsenal.
and not counting the 6 or so plugins i've tucked away and NEVER use.
