I had the iconnectmidi but sold it as I really couldn't afford to keep the device. Now I was hoping can anyone help if there's a cheaper alternative I can use, really want to use polychord with my windows setup.

Post

Polychord supports wifi midi, so downloading rptmidi (do a search) would do the trick. I use it with ipad3 and various midi apps into reason on pc no problems. Pretty simple to set up.

Or I sometimes use alesis io dock thing which has USB midi.

Both work great.

Post

Any tuts for rtp midi? problem is wifi in the house is awful, everyone is either downloading or uploading stuff. Rather have a hardware connection if possible,

How about this, will this still work with the ipad4. Got the camera kit and everything.

If you already have the CCK, then that'll work.
Or- if your MIDI interface for your PC has female connectors, all you need is the cheapo USBMIDI interface, and you should be food to go.

:) does rptmidi get no love round these parts? Works great for me, although I do have sole admin privileges to the router...

Post

Any recommendations for a cheap midi interface in the UK?, brought a 2i2 for Christmas an then noticed the 2i4:(

Depends on what you are connecting it to, on the PC side.
If your PC MIDI interface is another USB cable-with-plugs type, the same or similar to what is connected to the iPad, the you will need couplers because all the ends are male. If your PC has a different kind of interface, with a box or breakout cable, then most likely it has female connectors, and you won't need any adapters at all.
If you DO need adapters, one or two is up to you, depending on if you want in OR out, or in AND out.

thats the thing regarding the in and out, I just polychord to send data to the soft synths so is that out or in?

Then is it using the connector to attach both out.

You want OUT of the iPad to IN on your computer, in that case.

That makes sense in and out.

Hi there,

actually my site has been up all the time, but it seems that
some US ISP(s) has/have either misconfigured their routing
or is/are actually blocking my site...

The one ISP I have the name of is Comcast. Unfortunately it
seems not possible for me to get to contact someone there
from here (Germany).

I'd be highly grateful if you guys who are experiences problems
reaching my site could use the commandline to execute a
"traceroute" to www.tobias-erichsen.de and www.asio2ks.de.

Both of those sites are hosted at the same location and will
be on the same subnet.

If you could mail me the output of the treceroute and also open
a ticket with your ISP, that would be awesome...

Thanks a lot in advance...

Tobias

Hello Tobias,

Thanks for the reply to my query. I suspected it might be something like this. I use Comcast for internet, so you nailed it. I'll try what you suggest and get back to you soon. I'll also contact Comcast support and start a ticket.

Thanks again!
Chris
