I have seen/heard the video on YouTube (the 13mins one) and it seems really a nice synth. The sound is really very nice and it seems pretty easy to do new presets for it ;-)
I don't think I need to demo it before buying it.
Added to my wish list. (check!)
But there is a long waiting list of synths to be bought, so maybe in the next big discount :hihi:
I would pay not more than $100. I don't think it should be more than that.

Just a note: posts that quote our many-times-banned little friend's trolling will probably be deleted along with the trolling. Just bop over to the SPAM reporting thread and let mods know about it with a link to the thread, if we've not noticed already. Thanks.

The big question is of course, is it different enough to other VAs.
Polished...that is exactly how it sounds. It sits lot better in the mix from the get go. The EQ is really good and helps fit the synth in the mix before even adding EQ from the mixer... wish that could be said for some of the others I own. :(

I think the difference lies in its simplicity...something that I really like. I am personally tired of the standard softsynths, bloated with "ho hum" effects and features, with the "flipping from page to page" to get things done. Element has everything on the one screen. Nice for making and tweaking patches really quick... not getting lost looking for things. It would make a great live synth.

Plenty of existing synths have a one page GUI...

Yes, but the one page GUI is only one, of many features, that I like about it and that Element has going for it.

Ahh... you were complaining about all those 'bloated' softsynths so I figured you did not know there were plenty that aren't...

I like to look at the waveforms of a new synth and in this case they are, shall we say, 'slightly unconventional',
'slightly highpassed'

I should have said all those bloated synths I own. :)

I have several of GForce and the SynthSquad pack that are one page GUIs but my stuff from Arturia, Cakewalk, Steinberg, Waldorf, Native Instruments all have multiple pages to navigate and even Oxium has some flipping on the main page.

I think Element's sound, to my personal taste, is its strong point. I immediately put it some test songs I have, replacing the existing synths and remixed the song. I found the Element needed less processing and in turn, the mix sounded better, faster.

Minimonsta is still my favorite interface of all time. So much power with so little effort. I wish GForce would do a Minimonsta II with DIVA-level sound quality.

I like it. Much better sounding, IMO, than Saurus. Reminds me a bit of UltraAnalog, but it's got the mod matrix I always wished for... nothing new in terms of "virtual analog" sound though, but a solid low resource VA instrument IMO. A decent number off cool features to keep things interesting but still simple enough to work quickly in. I'm not sure why they skimped on the effect controls, but others have pointed that out. Maybe a later update? Definitely worth the $70 it's being sold at... though with a pretty full instrument folder and a number of hardware synths I may pass anyway. Nice showing though. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something inexpensive but good.
I want to amend my post. I went back to it today... to find an error telling me I had no license. The machine was now off line... does that mean I have to be on line to use it? No go. A bit later in my session after Live rejected the plug, it crashed twice with some complaints about that microsoft file thing which it's installer updated. This is super rare especially considereing what I was doing. Uninstalled and not recommended.

40 pages so far, Waves must be happy with that.

No problems with Live here so far. Both with the demo and later with the full license after many hours of using it. Got the license on an USB flash drive and it works on my desktop PC and my notebook.
Later when i i use my notebook again i'll try to turn off WLAN to see what happens without internet. AFAIK it should also work without.

Only problems i found and reported are that the Element plugin does not run in certain hosts like e.g. Orion 8.5 demo and EnergyXT 2.6.

Is this with a demo or full licence? A full licence should function offline with either the USB key or hard drive version. I don't know about the demo licences but I wouldn't be surprised if it needs something like a time reference or link to the licence server.

Funny thing is that the full name is not even mentioned in the thread title yet...
