CES: IK Mobile Music Accessories Now Compatible with Android

Use iRig MIC, iRig MIC Cast, iRig PRE, iRig MIX and iKlip STUDIO with your Android device

Combined with the announcement of its first recording Android app, iRig Recorder, IK is proud to announce that five of its popular iOS mobile accessories are compatible with the most popular Android devices.

Image

iRig MIC is a quality, handheld microphone that's designed for close-range and distance-miking applications. It's great for vocal recording and other musical applications, as well as podcasts, lectures, and more, and it enables better quality recordings than can be obtained with a mobile device's built-in mic.

iRig MIC Cast is a small, high-quality microphone designed for podcasts and other voice recordings. It attaches to a smartphone or tablet via its audio jack, features a mini-headphone jack for monitoring, and offers a low-profile solution for capturing better sounding audio from a smartphone or tablet.

iRig PRE is a pocket-sized mic preamp that makes it possible to use professional XLR mics with a mobile device. It provides phantom power for condenser mics, and has an adjustable gain control for setting the most favorable input level.

All the above products work great in tandem with the just announced iRig Recorder for Android, the easy-to-use recording and editing IK Multimedia app.

iRig MIX is the ultra-portable DJ-style audio mixer that's small enough to hold in one hand, and is perfect as a hardware front end for mobile DJ apps. Its two channels each have a volume slider, EQ controls and LED meters, plus a crossfader adjusts the level between the channels. It offers plenty of I/O including RCA outputs, which are great for connecting to DJ gear and home stereo setups.

iKlip STUDIO is a solidly built tabletop stand for tablets designed for use on flat surfaces with music or other type of apps. It securely holds a tablet in place with non-slip rubber grip feet, and features durable thermoplastic components, an adjustable viewing angle, and the ability to fold up for easy storage and transport.

Pricing and Availability
iRig MIC, iRig MIC Cast, iRig PRE, and iRig MIX are already available from authorized IK Multimedia music and electronics retailers worldwide, and from the IK Multimedia Online Store, with prices ranging between $39.99 and $99.99 (€29.99 to €74.99, ex. taxes).

iKlip STUDIO for 10" tablets is also already available while the 7" tablets version will ship during the first quarter of 2013, and will be priced at $29.99 / €24.99 (ex. taxes).

Hmm.. nice. Just today I was about to buy an iPod touch just to be able to use the multitude of audio accessories for iOS.

Is there a list of compatible devices? I read somewhere in this forum that Samsung deliberately restricts the use of audio devices on some models (including my SGS2, unfortunately) but maybe by some miracle your accessories will work.

Great news though, it seems like the audio situation on Android is starting to improve. I imagine that pretty soon FL Studio mobile for Android will be released too! :D

I'll check - I don't have a list but I've forwarded your question on. Thanks!

Any news on this?

I haven't heard back yet, likely due to it being pretty crazy there at CES... I'm trying to track down a solid answer for you.

Thanks!

At least some of the items' pages on the IK site link to lists of compatible devices. Look near the bottom of the product pages for links.

Ah, yes and I need to go through each because apparently I completely missed SGS2 on the one I just spot checked.

So It all looks good! Sorry about the confusion, I can check each device but I believe the list is the same for all as of now.

Android and music creation in the same statement sounds like a contradiction in terms ;)
BTW; I have noticed that IK is all over the place on these forums trying to increase their sales and yet we (common people) are NOT ALLOWED to post for sale items here.
Moderators, please address this ASAP - looks like unwanted SPAM!

I don't know whether that first sentence is http://www.sadtrombone.com or http://www.instantrimshot.com

This is an announcement, similar to the multiple similar threads from other developers/companies in just the first page of this sub forum. A moderator has already chimed in so I'm sure if the thread violated KVR rules I'd have been admonished in some way already.

I did try my best to put information about the company, the trade show, and relevant hardware and OS information in order to help people decide whether they were going to benefit from reading it.

So, while you are so active on these forums, may I pose a question:
When will IK address virtual MIDI issue in SampleTank and when can we have AudioBus support?

Your silence is deafening...
I will ask this question every time you'll post the so called news item aka SPAM ;)

Thanks Meffy, I found the answer I was looking for!

Seriously, you waited a whole 49 minutes (in the middle of the night and when I was already replying before having to take an early flight in the morning and way outside of typical business hours) and I hadn't even posted anything between. You seem to want to be difficult but I'll make it easy for you - report the thread (and make sure you report all the other devs making announcements here) to moderators and for your Virtual MIDI issue you should contact support as it seems to be working for many and you can be among those if you let them help you directly. If there is some underlying issue, reporting it through the proper channels will get it logged in our bug tracking system and it will get resolved. Thanks and have a wonderful day.

And I know Development and Product Management are aware of Audiobus, but I have no news at this time. I'm sure we'll post a news item/announcement here when we have more information :)
