Usually a mfr who undersells their distributors doesn't have distributors for very long !!!


AS far as price goes ; there's not much gain in getting upset when you see something cheaper after you have purchased . Most electronics drop allot within the first year . It's getting to where The only time I buy softwares is in december !!! Better to just enjoy your stuff and get on with your life !!!

It's always better to "get on with your life", but this argument is pretty much irrelevant. The OP found that the direct from manufacturer price was lower than the distributor price, which means the distributor MUST lower their price again to reflect this or something is very, very wrong. This has nothing to do with buying something and then being disappointed when a sale happens two weeks later.

That's what I'm saying. It seems there are cases where retail prices are quoted as the norm but they are way above what the developer charges. The a decent discount is applied to make the price look good when in fact it is the normal price. It seems to me either a mistake or a tactic.

I'm not talking about lowered prices after I bought. That's just the way it goes sometimes. If I bought something I must have been happy with the price at the time etc. And I love a good price so I'm not wanting to bash the Audio Deluxe reputation. They've done some good deals for me. Just can't imagine this sort of this being a mistake. I mean they are a retailer and setting the price is what they do so they should get it right.

I've bought a few things through Audio Deluxe and they have been great so this is not meant to be a smash fest. Some of their pricing seems off though.

I saw Soundtoys Devil-Loc Deluxe on there the other day for $179. It's $129 direct from Soundtoys.

Camel Audio is priced at $349 with a $100 discount which brings it down to the price CA sell it for.

All manufacturers provide us with pricing that includes the MSRP/List Price and the MAP Price of each product. These are set by the manufacturer. Camel Audio set the MSRP/List Price for Alchemy at $349 and the MAP Price at $249. Most manufacturers sell it at MSRP/List Price in their online store, some at MAP Price. I've bought a couple things from Audio Deluxe and been satisfied. The price was good, the download link provided within 24-48 hours.

But I'm currently trying to get some price information from them and am quite dissatisfied.

To wit, I sent the following:

This is the 3rd Email I've sent re: a simple question about a price -- without receiving a response. Is anyone there? Are you interested in more of my business? For future reference, do you have a PHONE number?

And pls tell me why I should feel good about continuiing to deal with a company I can't even reach for a simple price inquiry -- much less any PROBLEM I might have! Thank you.

I did finally get a response, simply stating the item was out of stock/back ordered. No phone number, no apology, no further response when I then responded back -- asking what their discount would be when it was available.

I note this in reference to the above mention of "best customer service out there" by the poster from Audio Deluxe. If you're reading this -- this is not MY idea of good customer service. Much less basic courtesy. And what's with not providing a contact phone number?
