midi librarian plugin? idea/question

idea/question for anyone using still some hardware synths/effects/whatever for musik making.

I am addressing this to any developers on this forum, that might find this a good idea.(i don't have programming skills)
I think its possible to design a plugin that acts as kind of midi librarian, for storing synth/effects/whatever patches in sysex, making easier the task of "setting-up" each sequencer song.
When loading a song it will automatically send the appropriate patches and setup all the devices involved.
It can be published as a midi destination (like every other softsynth), and will be inserted on a sequencer track.
The plugins preset implementation can be used for switching between setups/patches.
Any ideas?
(come on i know some of you still use some hardware!...
don't forget we all learned on hardware stuff)

ps. I am talking mainly about mac AU, since there exists something like that (though much more complicated) on the pc (midiquest).
