Next guitar has arrived safely and has about 2 hours on it now - joy!
Now it's 'Next Guitar that I'm selling', which is a roughly 1999 vintage Made in Mexico Fat Strat, black, rosewood FB, slightly modded according to the following:
1. Re-wired ever so slightly so that neck tone is master tone control, middle tone control is now variable tap on the bridge HB. Much more tonal variety and still gives classic quack in 2& 4 positions, but allows one to roll-off highs on the HB.
2. I lined the pickup cavities with copper foil for grounding - helped a little, but not much with classic single-coil hum.
3. I currently have graph-tech saddles on it but have the original stamped steel saddles.
4. Hard case included.
Shipping will probably kill most deals. Willing to drive up to 2 hours from Colorado Springs to sell.

@shipping. This has become a problem. I haven't checked lately (afraid to) but it wasn't too bad in cali to cali.
Parcel Post is an option but I've heard it's a hassle to get them to commit to it. Uggggg.
@Hink: FINALLY, Hink got a gibson

Ibanez RG1550M Prestige
It came in a Gibson boxBody style: RG
Body wood: Basswood
Neck type: Wizard Prestige
Fingerboard: Maple
Frets: 24 jumbo
Bridge: Ibanez Edge Pro
Case: Deluxe Prestige Hardshell
Bridge pickup: V8 Vintage 8 alnico magnet humbucker
Middle pickup: S1 Single 1 alnico magnet single-coil
Neck pickup: V7 Vintage 7 ceramic magnet humbucker
Then I saw this so I waited it out a bit, went to a local store to check another one out (school bus yellow) and then this one went down in price...I could not build one for the price I paid.
The action is amazing, there is a tiny ding (I was aware of that and it's in my teaser pics) but it's not noticeable. Now time to...to...what do you call that when you get a new guitar and want your strings...oh yeah...change the strings and see how it really sounds

Argggh, I can't do it. My little Ibanez has been with me since 1997 and survived a house fire. Took it to a good luthier a few years ago for a tuneup for $85 and then went a few weeks later to try out one axes at anywhere from $900 to $2500. None fit me like my Ibanez.
Needs a set of strings at this time. Now 90% playing through Apogee Jam to ipad 2 and using AmpKit+ or Jamup Pro. Into the focusrite pre's it goes.
Like coming home.

@Hink: Lovely instrument! Reminds me of my RG250DX (which needs a trip to the shop).
I'm saving up for a Nashville Tele next! Should have the cash in March (hope, hope) if I can stop upgrading my computers (heh).
Time to find a tech here in Austin.. since the house fire, I've had to move to a smaller temp space and I have no room to do ANY guitar repair or mod work! The nass is in storage until I can sell it on.. sigh.
Hopefully I can find a decent person to swap the pickups in my RG, and replace the pickup switch.
Next up: replace my RP355 with an RP500 (for the flexibility and reverse echo)!

I love the guitar but am not happy with Hoshino's store (no surprise there, when I was in retail they were a pita to deal with)...I'm not sure what part of overnight confuses them, order placed on the 14th (overnight was ten bux more) for a spare whammy arm (the original one will be here tuesday)...I call today to find out what the deal is and they said it should ship today....assholes didn't even offer me a refund on the shipping...again what part of overnight is confusing? Glad I got the guitar used and hibidy gave me a site where I should have gone so I dont have to give them anymore of my money...but I wanted it fast...Hoshino still sux I guess
edit: I sent them an email and they say they wont charge me for the overnight
Like I say all the time, I'm a tough customer...even over ten dollars

I'm not just saying this, I think that is TOTALLY fair! If you spend the cash for overnight, it should be shipped the next day (business) day. Not two, three, whatever days after. I've been through that with MF a couple of times. I finally learned to just be patient and use ground, it takes about the same amount of time

When you opt for overnight with Sweetwater, you can trust that it will be sent out in a timely fashion (the same day if you order early enough). Granted, the one time I used overnight with them, I ended up having to leave the house for a bit and missed FedEx, but that was my fault. They don't always have the absolute lowest prices on things, but I feel better ordering something like a bass from them, since they perform an inspection prior to shipping to make sure the instrument is set up decently and electronically sound. It's nice to feel confident that you aren't just getting a box yanked from storage and thrown on the loading dock that could contain a defective instrument.
