had a whammy bar for ten minutes, with a rose I have bent them to suit me many, many times...in this case the whammy hits the volume knob. I know I can adjust the springs some but I have that set up the way I want it...the bar from ibby broke when I tried to bend it (no tools, just one handed).
The original bar will be here Tuesday, I still love the guitar, it sounds great, the action is the balls but so far I would rather a FR on it like the rg550.
BTW this is the exact reason I dont like kahlers, two bars broke when I used them. I didn't put much pressure on it at all...tbh this has really put a damper on my joy. I really like this guitar but the whammy was an important part of that and I still have not tried it with a whammy...until now I thought Ibanez nailed it because I couldn't imagine modding this guitar because even the pups are sweet...my thought was ibby didn't miss a thing...but what a piece of shit that bar was...in fact my grandson likes to play with the whammy on my other guitars...he could break it...not a fan of the edge pro at all...I hope the rest of the guitar holds up better than the cheap ass whammy bar...I wonder if a FR yoke would fit?

Hink,
I have web storage and a web site... perhaps I should just put the pictures up on the web site... be easier for me to provide a custom link to the photos.
Link to follow.

btw a floyd rose yoke will fit, not going to do that yet though. I guess this teaches me to set up the guitar before I have the bar.

I am only talking about how the arm attaches, I know you didn't like how a rose arm attaches at all but I have always preferred the rose way. I dont like arms like a kahler or fender that screw in and I have only wanking (jamming in stores I worked at) experience with snap in. The action of the tremolo I will make my own, I have no worries about that. I like the bridge, I might have to stiffen it up some (which is odd because when I changed the tuning I reduced the string tension)...without the bar it looked so flat and level, I didn't realize how more room I had to go. It takes time to set up a new guitar to fit me, I shouldn't have tried a shortcut

I meant to say I don't want a rose
I don't like the rose attach arm. It always comes loose. With new bushings, the EP will stay back or you can use worn ones and it will fall down.

Just got this:
Setup is not 100% perfect and there seem to be some slight intonation issues but it comes with a free setup so that should all be sorted. I love the feel of it. Never had an SG and this feels great to play. For the money I'm pretty impressed with how nice it feels to play. Only had it plugged in for about 15 minutes so far but from that I'm pretty happy with the way it sounds too. Seems like a good buy.

Feh, meh, blech.
Tech at GC wants $200 to swap the pickups in the RG. I have no room to work on it in my current temp residence. Soooooooo...
I'm going to sell the RG "as-is" for cheap, sell the replacement pickups, and stop trying to do mods on my guitars!
The money will go for... wait for it..
A NASHVILLE TELE!
I should have the cash by mid-February. Twangland, here I come!

Interesting to hear. I've had my eye on one of those for a long time, with a mind to rip out the pickups and replace them with Seymour Duncan P-Rails.morelia wrote:Just got this:

wooly, what pups are you selling? BTW how much space do you need to swap them out? I could do it in the backseat of my car if I had too...I could change pups in my car too
