+1 I love this synth

Got redirected here from the best free synth thread...

Glad to see I am by far not the only one not overly fond of the user interface ;)

I think Waves' new Element has a virtually perfect user interface in addition to a good sound, although I prefer Mausynth's sound. (Unfortunately the company itself seems odd, with their update programs and stuff. They don't even reply to inquiries, so they won't get a single cent from me.)

Regarding the color coding, I don't see any color coding in Mausynth. I've now replaced the blue skin version with the metro version, but despite its colors I see no color coding. Color coding only makes sense when there is more than one element sharing the same color. Osc 2 and delay are the same color, but that can't be it, right? But I like the controls as such a bit more than in the blue version, it is easier to see the current settings. The controls of the blue version have those white shadow lines, which are confusing. The whole gui is too dark somehow.
On the metro version bold letters would be better though, one can hardly read some of the labels that are there to begin with. And those switches for ring modulation or invert don't seem like switches in the first place.

You did such a great job on the sound, but - in my view - kind of screwed up the easy part, the user interface. That's ironic somehow ;)

Like someone else has already mentioned, I also think a good chorus makes more sense than the delay. In my view, delay is more like an external effect whereas chorus is more part of the patch itself.

Regarding the Visual C++ component one needs, I first downloaded the wrong one, i.e. the 64-bit version instead of the 32-bit version, or the other way round, don't remember. Is it the DAW or the operating system that determines which version one needs to download?

Am I the only one getting a "MSVCP100.dll" missing error when loading it?

I am using Win 7 SP1, dropping it in energyXT1. (Dropping in energyXT2 simply crashed eXT2). :help:

I had the same issue, most people have. Thus it says on the Mausynth website help section where to download that component. But make sure you download the right version, i.e. 32 or 64 bit.

Thanks for the pointer. I installed the C++ run library; now I get a an error: "Exception EAccessViolation in module MauSynth11.dll at..."

I give up.

I think I finally perfected the glassy, smooth treble of the classic 70's polysynths (and Alesis Andromeda).

Here's a sneak peek, though it has too much echo and my crappy playing:

Is that a Deadmau5 synth offering?

The interface looks like Windows 8?

Confused :?

Hey - thanks man!

I ran a clip of the Kurmote organ II pre in T4 through some Valhallaroom verb and, for a moment, thought I had discovered the end of the universe!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again!!

You're welcome, glad you like it. The one I've spent most time with is probably the reed patch ..

Yea, Mausynth is really worth getting acquainted with.

Well that was a thread killer.

Hey mr.bungle! Any more teasers of what's coming with the next version? A little glimpse perhaps? Pretty please?
