Hi, Does anyone have Benedict's plugins that became freeware not long ago? They're not on his site anymore and I got permission from him to find them elsewhere as he himself doesn't have them anymore.

Thanks for the uploads, but over at http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=354541 isnt he basically saying both SSP and PRR are abandonware, and if you find nice people to share them, he doesnt mind? Not sure if what you are referring to is after jul. 12, 2012. I think it would be ok to share, shrug. Like i said appreciate the time uploading, cheers.bob bobwood wrote: Benedict indicated previously that the Pre Roll Recorder was not for sharing, so I haven't included it.

I downloaded when he made them available. Thinking about re-exploring them now.
There is a lot to go through in these packages. If looking for a good all-round synth, what would be the first plugin to pick?

Thanks for the links...I bought the SSPs and wanted to re-download since his site went down.Numanoid wrote:I downloaded when he made them available. Thinking about re-exploring them now.

Not on my PC right now so I can't go through my BRM plugs, but Virgo and Janus (both soundfont synths IIRC) are good all-rounders.
Benedict actually made some of my favorite VSTs ever and his ~$10 per bundle pricing was super fair. What I loved most was that instead of making one behemoth do-it-all plugin, he built specialized bits that did a few things very well, with a lot of character. Sample-O-Tron was a good sample player, Cluster was an intriguingly trashy little additive synth, and Glaz was a simple-to-use FM synth.
Chorus, delay, comb filter, and reverb (don't remember names) were not pristine, but filled with color. Since Benedict was inspired by Vangelis, Eno, Tomita, et al I found his sensibilities fit with mine. Presets were often inspiring, and graphic designs were fun and unique.
People are always slagging SynthEdit for this or that, but I love the fact that it lets creative people like Benedict actualize their ideas without having to be expert programmers. I feel like he could have charged more for his plugins, and I thought it was funny that someone so synth-obsessed was totally into country music.

Thanks so much for those, Bob. Never seen these but I am a sucker for more plugs
And its not weird at all, I do a lot of classical type pieces, but used to pick in a bluegrass group for fun.

Some useful plugs there, Seq 28-116 (can be used as an arp) and the mixer plugin MX12mo have been in use here.
