It's too bad you're posting this now - you could have picked up Synth Squad for $99 before xmas. Gorgeous sounding synth, good for huge or simple patches, and the arpeggiator in Fusor is superb. Keep an eye on the marketplace, maybe some December impulse buyers will decide it's not their jam.

there are tons of options for simple in omnisphere, both in presets and in soundsources

i'll second just downloading 'podolski' from u-he...nice basic synth with great arp...and it's free (which is better than spending more money only to later discover that omnisphere indeed has what you need)

The Logic arpeggiator is terrible imo.
Try this one out instead. It'll give you much more options.

my 2 cents is that opposed to using the built in arpegiator you just draw it in the piano roll?

that wa you can use any synth you want...

^ yeah this is just what I was going to suggest. If you go into the soundsources browser and choose "Synthesizers" there are loads of classic sounds you can use - they sound great with the onboard FX and unison/detune settings as well. Some great alternative suggestions though as well :)

Crap crap crap! I missed out on the 85$ on lush! Thats ....well it is wat it is. I am finding my way around Omnisphere with the simple synthesis but disregarding the lush gui i find it much more easier if just want that bright, one osc in 16 notes in chord mode or whatever. Omnisphere is great but arp very complex and for this kinda sounds i do not want to "paint" the arp if you get me. Anyway, if someone with lush that can match that price on sale, just send me a PM. This is what i want.

Alchemy. If you want something more "analog" and simple then Saurus.
