have you used version 3 and if so what do you think?
is it worth the $30 upgrade.
also what do you think of it's slicing ability and algorithms in paticular, are there any slicers that you feel are better quality wise/ feature wise specificly than beat creator?

I,ve used B.C v.2 fairly extensively since the upgrade.
I've always felt that as far as beatslicing/ beat re-arranging nothing else can even touch it.
I know it's offline sure, but it's a specialty player-Sound Forge can barely speak the language.
As far as v.3 goes I can't say, I'm drifting away from computer music on-the-whole these days.
Not sure if I'll be upgrading or not.

P.S.
Please send You're unwanted Roland V-Synths to me C.O.D. Thank You.

I'm using Beat Creator version 2 currently and I've been using BC for years. There are a lot of beatslicing solutions available and I haven't really messed with all of them so I can't say it's better than anything else. I can say that I believe it's always been far superior to Recycle although Recycle now includes Reason Adapted I guess in order to add some value to that program. I've always thought of Beat Creator as one of the best applications I have used. It's incredibly fast to operate due to the vast amount of shortcuts it has. I can do so much without even touching the mouse. It can export to many formats and even format combos at once such as sf2/midi. That's one I use a lot. I chop up a beat and export it to sf2/midi, then I load those into Battery in my sequencer. I use Beat Creator when my built-in beatslicer (Orion Platinum's grooveslicer) isn't up to the task. It's priced right so I recommend it. I don't expect to go for the upgrade since I'm not interested in what I've been reading about it.
