CuBase is one of the few DAWs that don't do demo versions. That's a pita... Please do try some contenders before buying something. It would be a pity if you found out it doesn't click with you.

I'd say get a demo version of Cubase, check out some getting started tutorials on Youtube, and see if the whole thing agrees with you. It won't cost a cent to try! Here's the link:

There is, but you need a (software or hardware) "licenser" even for the demo version. Something you should be aware of when choosing a DAW (and plugins, later on), is the copy protection of the software. There are different types, and some people tend to get annoyed by some of them. I won't go into details, and I've been a happy Cubase user for years, but it's something you should consider in your choice, according to what you like or dislike.

And yes, there is a marketplace in this formu. It's called Market Place . Just scroll down in the "Main Forum" list, if you haven't found it already.
