1. Consumer does not have real choice, and therefore products from other developers can get overlooked.
2. Such pricing implies there could be smaller bundles or individual products priced more reasonably.

And I am pounding on point #2 here; why not have smaller bundles? If you think back to something like Komplete 5, it made sense because it was a suite of samples and instruments. But now NI has many lines of products now; certainly if I had Komplete Ultimate, I wouldn't buy any more compressors. And if I wanted to buy their compressor and tube premium plugins, why buy them now when they are $400 already to start with and could be included in the upcoming KU?

If you think I am against NI or something, I'm not. I like those guys. But I do find bundling like this frustrating. I was just saying that 1. I personally don't like buying bundles where 75% of things inside are useless for me and 2. I feel they can make better offers. And what's wrong with that? NI doesn't have a problem with that? I'm fine with that.
If there were smaller bundles, there'd have to be a lot more of them. And since NI do retail that means a lot more investment in packaging, shipping, yadda yadda, right down to the amount of stock sitting on shelves unsold. And what if what you want isnt in a bundle? That's a lot of potential combinations.
And the pricing for the bundles couldnt compete with the discount on Komplete without undermining the single-product costs. If K8 is cheaper than those 3 products, how do you price a bundle with less? It has to be much closer to the cost of one product to be worthwhile to the buyer compared to the cost of Komplete. And it actually would undercut the sales to people stretching that one 'extra' product cost to get everything in Komplete.
Or NI have to raise the cost of Komplete just to make the smaller bundles look better value. :-o

There's really no scenario, at the current pricing of Komplete, for which smaller bundles make much sense, for us, or them...

Yes, I agree with you there. From NI's point of view, current scheme works very well. But now that NI's into FX business... and probably session horns pro is coming soon, Komplete might get little too big for us.

Well, for myself, I would buy Komplete Ultimate. It's good value. No complaint there.

Reaktor 6 would be the centerpiece.

Maybe we can hope for a K9 release afterwards ?
This means you can buy other toys now and with time to save up for March 27.

Sometimes I kick myself for passing on July 2012 K8 upgrade sale (I'm on K7), but K9 will be released soon enough ...

... then I can wait for the K9 sale ...

... then I can debate whether to buy K9 or wait for the K10 release.

I hope they improve on the Guitar Rig personally.

GR gets stomped on :hihi: by Fractal Audio and Kempler.

I have no Komplete and really want to upgrade my Kontakt,
Reaktor licenses... the sale price for K8 + the upgrade to K9
is likely the same as K9 new?

I think it's gonna have kontakt 6

Massive 2 was already confirmed

A ni employee mentioned a free massive 2 update for maschine users, so if you got maschine you got massive 2 for free when it comes out

This sounds awfully similar to the voice in my head! :hihi:

I guess this is a good sale, but I already have Kontakt 5. If they were to offer a good crossgrade for Kontakt owners, then I might bite.
This space has been unintentionally left blank.

Haha I thought that was for Massive 1, but if for 2 then ooops @ Ni for leaking that.

Lol I remember when ni leaked the back of the mk 2 maschine on facebook and I tried to tell people a new maschine was comeing, even providing photographic evidence. Then people son the ni forum said I was on drugs lol and I somehow got banned for it lol...

Most of us would regard battery leaks as a bad thing.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.
