Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 no audio, problem :(

just got it and downloaded the latest drivers, installed and plugged in the device. i changed my audio output to the focusrite one but no audio, winamp isnt even moving to play. in fl studio, following screen pops up

OK BIG UPDATE!!!!!!
- put in another USB slot, and it works.... why? i dunno, the usb slot works too and the mainboard is only 6 months old so no usb1
- i can play winamp and fl studio at the same time, when i start fl studio the error "audiodg.exe" still pops up, when i end it in the task manager i hear no primary sound from windows, winamp etc. anymore so that cannot be the fix
- when i play the playlist in fl studio, everything is played pitched down with Focusrite Scarlett, WTF? it moves the same speed but all is sounding slower and pitched down ?????!!!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you don't have the same sample rate and/or bit depth settings for your host (Cubase, Ableton Live, FL Studio) and your computer system (Windows). Some cards do manage this but most of those I have used do not. Make sure that your ASIO software has the same settings as your default Windows sound card (or the other way). Note that not all cards supports the use of ASIO and other drivers simultaneously.

and in fl studio i have to use mono input 1, stereo only plays on the left side, does it mean it will record only mono? is it normal? i want stereo recording of course of my vocals?

Right-click on the speaker icon on your task bar and left-click on "Recording Devices". Choose your Scarlett inputs in the list and then click on "Properties". Check "Listen to this device" in the "Listen" tab. May I ask why you want to hear your voice in Windows? If you are using FL Studio you shouldn't need to do this. Yeah, it's normal. If your microphone is mono then it's mono you will get. I'm no pro but I think almost all solo vocals are recorded in mono. Most mics you use to record vocals are mono indeed. But as 2i2 has two inputs, you can record stereo with two mono mics at the same time. Useful for pianos etc. I have the same interface and it totally rocks!

No, I don't think so. I was never able to route the Scarlett that way when I owned it. Why do you want to record "what you hear"?

Yeah, you might want to do that now and then. What happens if you choose a WDM driver instead of ASIO in Audacity (I have hardly ever used Audacity)? Will that make it possible to record internet radio?
EDIT: Just found a way to do it. Not as neat as a good routing software but it is a solution. You can only use your headphones for this. Connect the outputs on the back of the Scarlett to the inputs on the front. Set the inputs to line and turn the knobs up to about 3 o'clock. Adjust the monitor knob as much as you need. I just tried this on my KA6 and it does not create a feedback loop.
