Instead, then we have to update Aether, Breeze, and the new toy to our new GUI standards which support OSX 64-bit...
should go faster than it took for B2 b/c most of the time was making the new system... but it is still alot of work to translate these all to the new system...
then we can release the new toy.

Crowd source question: which is better:
http://soundcloud.com/2caudio/sets/andr ... n-progress
in terms of reverb?
I can't decide...
(aside: sound-cloud HTML5 admin side is a bit confusing at first...)

Really liked B2 sound during the demo.
There are also plenty of various Lexicon-like reverbs now. Demoing and hearing the audiodemos I like its sounds too, and especially one feature of this lexiconish sound - the presence. I mean, while it is rather transparent, you always can hear it like an source enhancing effect. Its tail is more hearable than tail of modern reverbs with the same RMS power. May be it is due to resonances appearing in these nested allpass loops, I don't know. So I am wondering if there are some ways to add the presence to the B2 sound besides saturation? Sorry if question is silly.

Sending a plucked synth sound I made in Zebra into B2 - dual engine - demo starts dry, then engine 1, then engine 1 cascaded 100% into engine 2 with Balance set to about 90% engine 2:

OK if you are an existing B2 customer and you are so inclined, you can try the 64-bit OSX VST version:
Note this is only for VST at the moment. If you need AU and/or RTAS in addition to VST, do NOT install this yet. This version is NOT compatible with the previous version AU and RTAS shells. We are still working on some issues in AU.

This is a MANUAL INSTALL for OSX VST users at the moment. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS VERY CAREFULLY:B2 1.1.0b02
0) Go HERE: http://www.galbanum.com/shop/product_in ... ucts_id=99
1) Select your desired OS format(s) from the drop down menu(s)
2) Add this update to your shopping cart and proceed to the checkout page
3) On the checkout page enter the following coupon code and click on Redeem:
B2_Update
This will change the price to $0.00. There is no cost and no payment info is required.
Windows users can run the installer and select UPDATE.First manually delete all of the following:
The B2 Audio Unit shell which is installed here: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
The B2 VST shell which is installed here: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
The B2 RTAS shell which is installed here: .../Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins/
The "B2" plug-in and resources folder found in ".../Library/Application Support/2C-Audio/"
Next:
Move "2C-B2.vst" from the new beta download to: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
Move "B2" folder from the new beta download to: ".../Library/Application Support/2C-Audio/"
User Presets are stored here:
.../Application Support/2C-Audio/B2/Presets/Full/User/
.../Application Support/2C-Audio/B2/Presets/Engine/User/
.../Application Support/2C-Audio/B2/Presets/Dynamics/User/
If you have made any, copy them somewhere else first, and then put them back into this location after you put in the new version folders.

If we have done our job correctly to this point you should see ZERO changes. But ALL GUI/Systems code is 100% different. This is actually more work than making a completely new product... 8 months on this stuff now! Fun!egbert wrote:Any release notes or other info on what is new in the Windows 1.1 beta?
Not a very sexy answer, I know...
But actually there are some ancillary benefits:
1) Found and fixed several memory leaks which could lead to crashing in complex projects.
2) Use less RAM all around, which can lead to minor performance enhancements due to "potentially" less cache misses. Don't expect miracles here though...
3) GUI is now processed on GPU instead of CPU so it should be VERY responsive.
4) GUI can be easily offered in different sizes (still finalizing this -- code it there, but I have to make the larger size graphics resources)
5) We can do more fancy GUI things now, but we have not implemented them yet, as we need to simply get all of our products working as-is on OSX 64-bit first...
6) Generally rearranged a ton of stuff behind the scenes to protect ourselves from these kind of delays in the future when some third party decides to force new standards...
