Ok my questions in the above post were a mess. Since I did not get a reply for the above post please disregard it and I will try to present the post more clearly here and now.
I need to buy an iPad (or a Lemur?) to run the enChord. I want to make the right decision. I spent a little time studying the iPads but some issues still are not clear in my head.
It seems not to get iPad 1, the original. So it remains iPad 2, 3 or 4. I understand iPad 4 is the latest any way per Google. So little that I have learned in the last couple of days the latest iPad 4 is not much better than the iPad 3. So now I have it down to IPad 2 or 3. I need help to decide between the iPad 2 and 3. Now there are variations of iPad specs and features. Here I need additional help.
I am seriously considering using he enChord as a keyboard controller and along with enChord features. Is this wise to use the enChord as a keyboard controller and not have a let's say 88 master midi keyboard controller.
Velocity response and the various was to accomplish it is important to me. Can the location where finger touch can determine velocity? Can moving the finger right and left or up and down create a midi stream to modulate a sound? Like the Linnstrument
"You can certainly create a full song with enChord." By create do you mean to play it on the enChord TileBoard in a real time improvisational performance? I suspect by create this time it means in real-time. Just want to get this straight. Some similar programs to enChord create but not in real-time during a performance but in real-time during editing.
Will midi learn work with enChord?

I got the IPad down to a version 3 or 4. Your last reply to me did not include IPad version 4.
Will 16 GB memory be adequate?
Will the extra fast Apple A6X be beneficial for enChord?

If you're only running enChord then yes 16 GB of disk space should be sufficient. If you're going to be running other apps (quite likely since there are lots of good ones!) then I would go for 32 GB minimum.
Assuming only music apps you do not need the additional functionality of 3G connectivity, so just get the basic model, which obviously includes WiFi.
Definitely at least an iPad 3. I thought the iPad 4 was faster again, if so get that. The iPad world moves pretty quick, you don't want to be stuck with an older / slower CPU in a years time.
Peace,
Andy.

Ok may be leaning to iPad 4 thanks to ZenPunkHippy. Likely the 16 GB version. I assume I can transfer my data files to an external hard drive.
My question remains will enChord work I the iPad4? Avantgarde Sound already said ok to iPad 1, 2 and 3 but did not mention 4.

I originally joined the bandwagon requesting the enChord be a VST. Since then while learning more about the enChord I can see the wisdom of making it a midi controller. This however created the problem of increasing possibilities of what the enChord can be… ...To elaborate in another post.
I am considering getting the $29 EnChord but need to spend $500 for the iPad to get it to work. So I prefer I have all my questions answered before I take the plunge.
I pretty much decided if I get enChord to get iPad 4 (IPad 5 available in March?) which has the lightning connecter. Now what does one do to get midi out from the iPad?

Is $549 the best price for the iPad 4, Wi-Fi only, 16 GB?

Awesome software. Although I have to pass for the time being. Still happy using Sound Prism Pro and PolyChord in the iPad over MIDI to my DAW for chord progressions. I might evaluate this when I get more time next month.
Kalamata at some point you will need 64 gigs so get that one and be done with it. I bought my first iPad thinking the same but that disk space fills up very quickly. The iPad 4 has the fastest processor of the lot. Good choice.

Nightpolymath,
Ok Perhaps get the 32 GB version on the iPad 4 at $649 at NewEgg.com. already over budget. I will not have many apps at least this is how it is at this moment.
The iPad 4 has the lightning connector now so I need to get the lightning to USB adaptor and use a power USB hub and I am in business.

It's not that you are being ignored and we addressed the questions you had specifically about enChord in our previous post to you. To put things in perspective, many of your questions are like if I want Steinberg to tell me exactly what computer to buy out of my interest in one of their plugins, or like if I wanted Sugar Bytes to tell me what computer audio soundcard to get. There's a bit of ethical responsibility in any ethically-solvent developer's public advice, and such developers don't usually go too far in their recommendations of third party products if only for safety and ethics.
enChord is targeted primarily for current users of iPad and Liine's Lemur and/or users who feel comfortable in delving into newer technologies. Still many users we have told us they went as far as simply buying an iPad and Lemur just because of their interest in enChord, which is definitely flattering. Further, I can tell you that our current users issues have been basically non-existent comparatively speaking. The couple times enChord presented any objective coding issues, our addressing and corrections of the same happened overnight. Using enChord is very straightforward, and any complexity happens under the hood. But no doubt our user base is quite simply a bunch of very smart people and we are very proud of them. This user base quality has enabled us to focus on porting enChord to iPad native version (where no Lemur will be needed. Working hard on this.)
Nonetheless, the enChord specs and requirements are out there posted here and elsewhere. What iPad you get is a decision you have to make, and I can't personally tell you what to buy. However, as published here, enChord does work with any iPad of any generation or hd capacity within the Liine's Lemur framework running in that iPad. For MIDI connectivity, you can use a wireless network or a dedicated class-compliant MIDI interface, such as iRig MIDI or Mobilizer 2, a compatible USB camera connection kit MIDI interface, etc. Liine's support website have many videos as to MIDI connectivity and setup:
http://liine.net/en/support/lemur
It would probably be wise to start a new thread specific to your iPad questions from a general perspective where other iPad users can chime in and share their experience with you.
Best,

Avantgared thanks for the reply
I did research the iPad using Google however ZenPunkHippy and Nightpolymath helpful replies pinned it down for me. iPad 4 wifi only with 32 GB but last minute I may get the 64 GB. Money money money!
I tell friends I want to get the really nice $30 music software but need to spend $700 to get to work. That what it takes so that is what I will have to do. My feeling is to wait for the native iPad version but would have preferred the Windows touch screen version. Oh well such is life.
Is Avantgarde Sound concerned about Feature requests? If so where should they be posted?
I know you are very busy and not always able to answer all the little details of a question.
BTW the men in black no longer follow me.
