Thanks for that. tbh the graphic is just too small to see any detail on individual strips.gamecat666 wrote:1 cubase 7thecontrolcentre wrote:I can't read the peach colored text on the graphic ...
Any chance of a darker colour (or larger graphic) so I can join in?

You're right, a VU meter would be cool -- but that's the In/Out/Gain Reduction meter for DP's Leveler plugin. In DP, you can enable Dynamics and/or EQ sections in the channel strip -- sort of mini-interfaces for the MOTU comps and EQs.nilhartman wrote:the way DP8 has a built-in VU meter is pretty smart. I wish Reaper and Live had such simple yet so useful feature.

What I like about the Reaper channel strip is it can be radically altered by skinning and WALTER.

No idea what the acronym stands for, but it allows you to place elements (volume fader, mute, meter, etc) where you want them to go, size them however you want, set their behavior for stretching. It lets you have a customized mixer or track strip just the way you want it, beyond what skinning allows.carrieres wrote:what is WALTER ?

I like reaper and live best. Reaper is clean and lean, uncluttered and live is the same but you can toggle i/o/sends/etc and it's really easy to work with.
I'm not diggin' on the reason one.....looks like a bit much. I also don't like using studio one. I have that and it's WAY too hard to go between mixer view/plugs/sends/and what you can view on the channel itself. Really complex and unintuitive imho.

To be fair, that VU meter is for their embedded compressors only, it's not a volume VU meter.nilhartman wrote:the way DP8 has a built-in VU meter is pretty smart. I wish Reaper and Live had such simple yet so useful feature.
Also, DP8 comes with about 15 skins, and people can make their own if they want, so...

Studio One pisses me off. Why do we have to have separate column for inserts and sends in the "short console" view? Then the channel becomes three times as wide and it makes no sense why they cannot be fit to a single column.

Yep. Really about the only thing that kills me in S1. It's strange considering how ergonomic the program is all in all.schnapsglas wrote:Studio One pisses me off.
