Post it post it!
Fixing a few annoyances still... Maybe tomorrow.

For example Logic itself does not seem to follow the latest AU standards that it defined itself... So at the moment it loads fine in Logic in 64bit now, but now fails to load in 32-bit mode.

I suppose I could let people try it this way if you only care about 64-bit mode... but maybe another day or so is better so we can work this out...

Take your time.
What's another day or two at this point ?

Curiosity question:

How many of you still need 32-bit AU?

Post

pretty sure i'm the outlier, but i need both. 64bit only on new machine but still need to pass or bring sessions over from my older mbp on 32bit.

So long the session and automation compatible I suppose, don't care about what version.

Short answer: both 32 and 64 bit please.

In truth the next 64bit versions of most OS X DAWs will more likely only support 64bit AU plugins, doing away with the need for unreliable 32bit bridges...

I suspect the next version of Logic will do that, as will the next Ableton Live 64bit.... and frankly, I don't think there are that many 32bit AU Plugins left that are still being developed.... (Sylenth for example looks like it will not be developed any further so it is stuck as a 32bit version..) that haven't been.. or are real close to being... updated to 64bit versions.

Personally, I have stopped using any 32bit plugins these days. Either there are 64bit versions of the ones I use already.. or i simply have stopped using those whose developers have not updated them by now.. I'd rather use a 64bit version (or use VEP5 to run older 32bit plugins..) than suffer the 32bit bridge... but this is just my opinion.. YVMV!

So as far as i am concerned.., if B2 was released only as a 64bit AU plugin.. You wouldn't hear any complaints from me at all.

Thanks for the feedback guys. We've figured it out now anyway, so it's now a mute point/question to some extent. I'll supply the link here shortly... VST and AU 32 and 64 for OSX 6., .7. .8....

Post

I'm still interested in 32 and 64 bit versions, as I'm using Numerology Pro 3 that is as yet still 32 bit. It is in the process of being updated to 64 bit now though. Imminent, release, well, I guess that's a dangerous word, soon, soon....

Really loving B2
waves break, but somehow it all makes sense.

OK, today is the day we have all been waiting for: 64-bit AU & VST on OSX. (and 32-bit for whoever still needs it).

Note this is only for AU & VST. If you need RTAS in addition to VST/AU, do NOT install this yet. This version is NOT compatible with the previous version RTAS shells. We are looking at AAX now to see how long it will take to add.
B2 1.1.0b03

0) Go HERE: http://www.galbanum.com/shop/product_in ... ucts_id=99

1) Select your desired OS format(s) from the drop down menu(s)

2) Add this update to your shopping cart and proceed to the checkout page

3) On the checkout page enter the following coupon code and click on Redeem:

B2_Update

This will change the price to $0.00. There is no cost and no payment info is required.
This is a MANUAL INSTALL for OSX users at the moment. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS VERY CAREFULLY:
First manually delete all of the following:

The B2 Audio Unit shell which is installed here: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
The B2 VST shell which is installed here: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
The B2 RTAS shell which is installed here: .../Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins/
The "B2" plug-in and resources folder found in ".../Library/Application Support/2C-Audio/"

Next:
Move "2C-B2.component" from the new beta download to: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
Move "2C-B2.vst" from the new beta download to: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
Move "B2" folder from the new beta download to: ".../Library/Application Support/2C-Audio/"

User Presets are stored here:

.../Application Support/2C-Audio/B2/Presets/Full/User/
.../Application Support/2C-Audio/B2/Presets/Engine/User/
.../Application Support/2C-Audio/B2/Presets/Dynamics/User/

If you have made any, copy them somewhere else first, and then put them back into this location after you put in the new version folders.
There is no change to the windows beta yet, so no need to reinstall it yet. If you have NOT previously installed the Windows beta, you can download and run the windows installer, and select UPDATE.

Cool new feature: Keyboard and Mouse-wheel control of knobs and slider... click on or mouse-over a knob and try left/right-up-down arrows for coarse/fine adjustment to parameters. Mouse-wheel for coarse adjustment, shift-mouse-wheel for fine adjustment. VERY USEFUL for preset design, especially for fine tuning geometry controls while looking at the tap display... one hand can make micro adjustments via keyboard, the other can be playing a midi keyboard, etc... confirmed to work in Logic and Cubase, should work in other hosts too...

extra large GUI skin coming too...

Known issues:

1) OSX: Text entry boxes do not close automatically when clicking outside the control area. To close simply press enter.

2) OSX and Win: There is some bug with changing OS. Sometimes the plug-in becomes muted. Relload the plug if this happens.

These should be fixed in the next couple days...

Post

Hi Andrew,

Is there any change to the OSX VST version to the beta you posted the other day?

(Just wondering if there's any need to re-download as I'm not needing the AU).

Glad to see your note about the text field thing... took me a while to authorize the other day until I worked that out!

Looking forward to the large GUI option! :)

Cheers,

Alan

Well, i just bought B2. Couldn't resist any longer.....
I'm blaming it on Simon Stockhausen and his damn amazing B2 soundclips on Soundcloud..... :x 8)

No, seriously, B2 sounds GORGEOUS!!!! I already own and love Aether, but this baby is something else. Using just the 'attitude' on boring drums makes them sound alive.

Now i think it's time to buy a new computer, the combination of Aether and B2 (in dual engine mode) almost launches my ageing late 2007 Imac's cpu to the moon........Who cares when stuff can sound so amazing, right?......

Andrew, about that new plugin.......any hints about what it is? Is it an FX or is it an instrument?

Following the instructions exactly as written... for the install of the OS X 64bit version.. I can happily say, all went well!

So good to be able to get away from using the 32bit bridge at last as this was my very last plugin that I still had to use the bridge for....

Excellent...

Time to test now......

Thank you!!

I agree. Why is it that I'm just now finding out about this reverb? Was I asleep that month?
