Can anyone recommend a utility to convert wav audio files to the wma format? The cheaper the better (and freeware would be better still).

Cheers,

Check this one out. I downloaded it some time ago but I don't think that I've used it yet. It sounds as if it might do the trick and it's free.
dBpowerAMP Music Converter.

Thanks for the recommendations. The dbpoweramp utility looks like it will do the trick, and I like the price.

Does google really make recommendations? Gee, I gotta get some of that stock...

I was going to suggest the dbpoweramp thing but I'll be a nonconformist and suggest CDex instead. It's a nice multi-format audio converter.

CDeX - it's free

If you're at school or work and can't install your own progs, try importing the .wav to windows movie maker and then exporting it to .wma. You will be stuck at 128 kbs max, but if you need to convert a track to wma on a deadline, it will do the trick for sure.
