Thanks for the heads up pHz. That makes sense. I just wanted to make sure. I often see posts on other forums where people say " go here and vote for me", which I find a little unfair. I don't expect to win or anything but I am happy to see that the voting policy is fair. At least 20 posts and having to be a KVR member sounds good to me...

:)
Play it by ear

Post

I listened to more entries than the last month. People make cool music these days at home :)

Anyway, few thoughts...

Fitch, your music is great. I love string instruments in any arrangements, specially good as this! I wish you have a listen to my song (not in contest) that I played violin and tell me what you think. If U have time that is... is it located at:
http://www.angelfire.com/jazz/sason/cigani.ogg

Ben Smith - very nice idea. Busy! I like the groove. Only maybe it needs finishing mixing touch and 'fresh ears' mastering. Thumbs up!

Pheeleep - I like 2Pac's work, and this track doesn't fall back. I wouldn't be surprised to hear this 'on air'! Interesting with mandolins (I also use mandolin mostly, as in this months song :). Nice drum programming. Only thing I noticed that I didn't like, the overall sound is a bit muddy at some parts. Nothing unrepareable :D

Eric Bourne - Man, the song took me to some different dimension :) Somewhat scary I could say. What drugs I should use to properly listen to this one

Don McClane - Atmosphere building up, I like it. You compose music for theatre? If not, you should try getting a gig, modern directors will love your music!

Earthtones - 80's, with a grin on my face :D This track brings me back when I was a kid. Mostly bcos of the string sound and this FM7 type sound. And also singing style, only I wish the vocals were a bit clearer.

Wopelka - Funny little song :) I think of little green elves who live at the bottom of rainbows . Concerning sound, you need some deesser on vocals, some ss's are a bit too loud.

Emerald Tablet - Man, don't wanna comment on this scary tune , I'm affraid that the witch is gonna come for me :help:
Backing atmosphere is great, SF horror :-o

Thats it from me now, late, gotta sleep... and dream about victory

Night!

80's huh?? Hmmmm - you know how when you get so close to what you do, you don't realize what you're doing? :hihi: guess I'm stuck in the 80's. Was my favorite music genre though so it figures.

Sorry bout the voice - I purposely left it low in the mix since it was crap! I had seriously just lost my voice the day before, and could only eek out one take before it was gone again...should've waited but wanted to get it done while I had a time window.

Thanks for your comments...I guess you liked it??? :?

btw what's a bco??? :scared:

Thank you for your kind words Sason. :D My mixing and mastering techniques are coming on leaps and bounds but I still have a lot to learn and long way to go!

If I have a grin on my face while listening, then I most definetly like it :D

btw 'bcos' is shortened of 'becouse', and I write it like that bcos it's shorter, and bcos I'm not sure how to spell the real word

Cheers!
In the begining was nothing...
Which exploded...

Awwww! I was going to enter this month's contest, but this is my first post to the KvR forums. If I don't have 20 posts -- can't vote. If I can't vote -- disqualified.

Oh well . . . this contest is still a good source of inspiration. Greetings to everyone. I'm enjoying the good music, and keeping track of this month's entries.

1) Just bring your number of posts up. Not that hard to reach 20 posts...

2) I am almost sure that in case you'd enter the contest, you wouldn't need 20 posts to vote.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Aye, I think the 20 posts thing was just so people didn't get their mates to join k-v-r just to vote for them.

I know this sounds dumb but... How exactly do you vote?

Yes - you're probably right, in which case I really shouldn't be crying about it. :) From what I can see, the voting method in place is a good one. And it's not like winning is the main reason for entering. I'll post my song in the correct thread, and see what happens.

I also thought this to be the case.
