Hello,

I just wanted to know if anybody is aware or building a plugin that:

when/while a specific "root" midi note is triggered, a "transpose to semitones" function is being performed for an another midi note that is triggered at the same time...

This plugin has a high degree of functionality when playing a DIY drum kit (in real time) with piezo-based drum pads..

Hope you can be capable of some kind of assistance.

Thanks anyway,
Best regards, Harris.

I don't know of any plugins off hand that can do this, but I'm sure you could easily accomplish it with the MIDI modules in a host like Plogue Bidule, or using an app like Bome's MIDI Translator.

hi,

I'm not sure to fully understand what you want exactly.
But if you manage to do what you want in bidule, send me the patch and I'll see if I can integrate it in a vst midi plug.
but I don't promise... ;-)

Hello to all of you.

Let me give you more info...

All I want is to play midi midi notes "a","b","c" etc by pressing a "basic" midi note "d" and a "mirror" midi note "e" that shall transmit the transpose fuction to the host.

In simple words, if I trigger note A5 while holding B6 down, then A#5 will be heard or recorded, instead of A5.

In addition,if I trigger note A5 while holding B#6 down, then B#5 will be heard or recorded.

Finally, if I trigger note A5 while holding both B6 and B#6, both A#5 and B#5 will be heard and recorded.

Hope it's all much clearer now,

Regards, Harris.

hi,

do you know max/msp?

Jean claude risset did some "etudes pour piano" using a yamaha diskclavier and max/msp, with things like the computer playing the mirror melody and many other things.

If that's what you're looking for max/msp will be more flexible than a dedicated plug-in.

You could also have a look at Aureality's Building Blocks, which is a bit like Reaktor for MIDI...
