people seem to be on a synth comparison thing lately so
i decided to do one myself... here we have former Visage and ultravox frontman
midge ure emulating the famous "fade to grey" synth. i made a short
clip of the same part of the song using the vst - Cetone 033

which do you think is more like the original??

That's such a great song. Where can I find that VST? And is that bass one of the presets or did you make it?

its a preset i created, TAL chorus LX was also used to get the sound in the video

But that is what the OP has done right?

He has tried to emulate the Visage Fade to Grey bass arp sound, with the CeTone033 freeware synth:

yw, the synth has some nice sounding osc's only wish it had more sustain and more polyphony, an lfo would be handy too. there is actually cetone2 synth available too, that has those features and alot more at the price of higher cpu load
