Guys I havent changed anything recently that affected tuning.

I think this is a preset specific issue not a global issue.

How does the GUI change work? I select a different scheme (blue, orange, whatever) and nothing happens. Then I close the window and reopen it and nothing happens. Then I close my DAW and reopen it and nothing happens. :D Thanks

sometimes crashing as soon as a note is hit, sometimes after changing presets
As one door closes, another one opens ;)

Creating DAW specific versions of SynthMaster, would maybe same a bit of work for the developer?
Let's wait until it crashes YOUR DAW, then I'll have an answer for you.

Are you setting it from the (global) "Settings" tab?

OK, I found the reason why at least some of the patches play too high, and it's related to the thing I mentioned earlier: pitch is modulated with an LFO (in Add mode), but the LFO is unipolar, meaning pitch only modulates above (not around) the correct level. Just load for example "AR High and Low RL", turn on "Bipolar" in LFO1, and the patch is perfectly in tune.

However, seems like this didn't fix _all_ the patches... don't have time to investigate this any more right now, but hopefully this helps you track down the root issue!

edit

Ok i just found the issue here with this patch with one click..
Go to the modulations on the right and double click: Layer1 Voice Pitch.. click it back to Zero.. there was a setting of +1:02 there.. try it.
I'll resave the patch and send to Bulent.
The patch should have been:

Layer1 Pitch LFO 1 x NOT + and the LFO setting should have been 1/8 divided by 3 in the LFO page..

Any update for the automation smoothing issue?

Yep, I noticed the drift, but it's not about a slight drifting around the correct pitch (which is perfectly OK :)), but instead this particular patch is constantly playing about one semitone too high, even with drift set to zero. Enabling Bipolar in LFO1 (or alternatively turning LFO1->Voice Pitch modulation to zero) makes the pitch correct.

EDIT: OK, seems like you found the same thing. :) This still doesn't solve the mystery of all out-of-tune patches, but I'll keep digging...

Yes when i checked this the LFO has a + 1.02 which should have been x 0.02
Also the LFO shape should have been Triangle - Bipolar - Sync - 1/8 divided by 3 and retrig

I will have to check these sounds now, all 400 FFS... seems like some of my LFO setting are just set to Sine and no clock value on that patch i need to check all these now.. not even sure anymore what version i made these in but i'll check back a year or so :-(

Yeah i found it.. i suspect that there's gonna be lots like this from all banks i'll have to check these over the next few days/weeks.

@Captain

Can you tell me if these are just happening with my expansions? I'm asking as i have no factory sounds here as i always delete them upon download so i have a blank canvas. If you find any let me know and i'll re download SM2.5 and go through the other as well one by one. If it's just mine then i'll just go through those?

Thanks mate :-)

No problem with any work here :-) Just wondering why the preset was set to +1.02 and not the intended x0.02
I'll go through mine over the next few days and check.. not sure if there's any factory sounds behaving like this as i don't have them. Would be great if someone could check those aswell :-)
I already resaved that patch you mentioned above.

There were at least a couple of patches from others too:

8 BIT oldschool sqr RF
8BIT Sawer RF
LD Manco Lead TP
(all from factory sounds, I think?)

And probably more, but I'm in a small hurry right now so can't go through them all... But in any case, a big thanks in advance!
