I am running Magma v1.5.1 in Logic Pro 9.1.8 and Pro Tools 10.3.3 (Mac OS X 10.8.2).
It uses serial number protection, no dongles required.
I am able to load VSTs via Magma in both Logic Pro and Pro Tools.

So how is it overall then? What is the integration like?

Initial configuration of the VST Chainer can be challenging:
1. When first loading the chainer, Magma must scan and validate your VSTs
2. Any incompatible VSTs that are encountered during the scan will cause Logic Pro and Pro Tools to crash!!!
3. You must relaunch Logic Pro or Pro Tools and continue scanning to complete the VST validation process
4. In my case, Logic Pro and Pro Tools crashed 5 times each during the validation process (410 VSTs were scanned)
*** I highly recommend creating an empty project to perform Magma's VST Chainer validation - there is a risk of damaging an existing project when Logic Pro or Pro Tools crashes ***
5. Once the validation process in completed, the VST Chainer is ready for use
In use, VSTs loaded via the chainer behave just like native plug-ins.
Important: if you attempt to load a VST via the chainer, when a native version also exists (i.e. RTAS), Pro Tools will crash.

YES, we use serial number, no iLok or C/RSimon Morrison wrote:I am running Magma v1.5.1 in Logic Pro 9.1.8 and Pro Tools 10.3.3 (Mac OS X 10.8.2).

I'm going to try to give you all more information about copy protection and our products.
We are working the VST Chainer to improve VST scan and stability. If a plug-in crashes the VST validation, the host will not crash and the validation will keep going, loading all other plug-ins. We are planing to add a window where you'll be able to re-validate just one plug-in if needed. Of course virtual instruments will be classed as unusable, because for now the VST chainer is just for VST effects.
1) MAGMA:
Because of cracks and bit torrents where you can find cracks of MAGMA, download it and use it (even if the crack causes crashes and doesn't work properly), we thought about using iLok 2 for MAGMA and future software we are working on. But we changed our mind for now. We actually use simple serial number, no C/R and no dongle.
FYI: some of our customers who registered for other software other than MAGMA, are contacting us for MAGMA support and they are actually using a cracked version of MAGMA. When we reply asking for a legal serial number, they start to be arrogant and say 'What are you gonna do, send me the police'... Very elegant. A lot of people who we see complaining are using cracks, and the cracked versions will behave like they are full of bugs, they do not work properly. But of course we are still trying to fix the legit bugs for legit customers.
2) Incoming updates of our current products line: (ISP3, all bundles and individual plug-ins:
We are working on updating all our current software, fixing bugs, adding new features, removing the current C/R authorization, and using simple serial number for all our products, BUT, this requires time. Updating 50 plug-ins in different formats (AU, VST, RTAS and AAX) for MAC & PC requires a lot of effort, so please be patient. The ISP3 (Integral Studio Pack 3) will be updated to ISP4 and all our software will soon have a common version number (V4) so it will be easy for us to update all software using same version.
3) New incoming software during 2013:
YES, we are working on new software during 2013! You'll see new exciting features added to MAGMA but also new products... of course we cannot say anything about it for now, but stay turned to Nomad Factory.
4) Last thing I'd like to say:
We are a small company and do not have the time to respond to all threads, and we will not respond to negative flaming "hater" posts. If we think we can offer something useful to a productive conversation, then we will post, as we are doing now. To people who say negative things about us for the "fun" of it, I just want to say Nomad Factory have worked on a lot of very famous and popular products that everyone knows about already, and we use the same quality Nomad Factory DSP programming and features on those products as our own. We have been hired by a lot of companies to solve problems for them, and we are under NDA with them so I can't be specific, but we would not be in this business at all if we were as bad as a few people are saying here.
I do read all the forums and I consider all posts whether they are positive or negative because this is also a way for us to understand your needs.
I want to thank you all for reading this post and wish you a great week.

The third party VST chainer and modulation matrix is a huge addition that has me considering Magma.midihead wrote:Did anyone see this? It's MAGMA's Modulation Matrix in action. https://vimeo.com/59117407
Owning and regularly using many of the other Nomad Factory apps, I've been a satisfied customer for years.

Ermm ... all of them pretty much ... it is a pain not being able to scroll through presets easily. But, in order of priority, Magma, Magnetic II and Echoes first please!
Thanks very much for the long post and clarification of certain issues. FWIW your products are great AND you hopefully will not encounter many users of cracked versions on KVR.

This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.
