I just want to shout and give praise to MeldaProduction for making such an amazing free package of effects for everyone. I am totally in love with the MAutoPan, Tremelo, EQ and Dynamics. Thank you, I bought the upgrade!

Absolutely, amazing plugins.
Check for example the limiter's cpu hit, it's so low you can put it on every track. Also love the graphic there.

Funnily enough I downloaded them a couple of days ago. To get a better look at the EQ.
Some bod on youtube was using it for an EQ tutorial.
Guess I'll have to install it. I have nearly 40 EQ plugs in my FX folder. I counted them the other day. Let's go for the big four O.
OT: btw, vaisnava that Focusrite Scarlett Gate you said you didn't use (if I remember correctly), is mind-blowingly, amazingly good. A real revelation. Never used one as accurate and easily adjustable as it, yet. No gate I have ever used comes close. I think people might be surprised.
Back OT: Actually, I guess it wasn't that OT. I remember using the Melda Tremelo for some gating effect I was trying to achieve and nothing else had seemed to work, so I gave it a shot. It really did the job chopping up the track. Really excellent plugin.
Not sure about the colour on that EQ though...
I hope it's changeable.
Btw, what is the deal with Meldaproductions free pack? I couldn't get my head around the explanation they gave. Do you like register one plugin and get the whole pack free? That must be wrong. How does it work?
Anyone that know, care to explain? I know they've got a sale on at the moment with the whole pack going for 22 Euros. Is that right? That's insane. Just checked - it's 25% off all February. For the whole pack? What am I not understanding here? (sorry, very tired)
Edit:
I just had another look. I'm still not getting it. You can buy the whole pack of 22 plugins for 22 Euros, that's like.. oh never mind, maths was never my strong point... that's like.... really good value. I must have got it wrong. I remember using the pack a couple of years ago and they were really great quality. But you knew that anyway...

Well the Scarlett stuff is super nice, but I never found a use for a gate cause I do everything with synths and there really isnt much noise getting in.
As for the Melda...
You can change the colors and sizes of everything once you pay the tiny upgrade price and unlock the full potential of the free bundle. They are still great as they are, but it is worth the step up IMO.
I use the Tremolo in all sorts of creative ways... ABSOLUTELY love it.

the free fx bundle is, well, free. no need to register, just install. but as the meldaproduction site states, if you buy a license you get the following additional features:
Advantages of the upgrading:
You can change size and style of the plugins.
You can access sonogram feature in analyzers and equalizers.
You can manipulate your own presets.
Most plugins can perform upsampling which minimizes aliasing, therefore it is useful to improve sound quality.
The plugins will not contain the nasty big box in the bottom with our clickable logo.
You will make us happy and let us develop more free software
.
> when you get a license you can change the color. I did it and do not regret it. great plugins! (Especially all the modulation fx, but also the rest is not too shabby)...

Ah yes - I was wondering why I was getting the 'nag' from the free plugs. It looks like it might make sense for me to get a license for the higher-powered free-ish set! If it's not too much that is.AKJ wrote:the free fx bundle is, well, free. no need to register, just install. but as the meldaproduction site states, if you buy a license you get the following additional features:

Yes, it's really powerful. I remember setting up sidechains and faffing about for hours and then I tried the Tremelo, because I thought, well that's a kind of drop-in, drop-out of volume type effect - it might work, and it did. Really adjustable. It didn't spring to mind immediately as a gating type effect, but it did the job.vaisnava wrote: I use the Tremolo in all sorts of creative ways... ABSOLUTELY love it.
I'm a bit more advanced now with my side-chaining abilities and have some more sophisticated tools, but I'd pay the 22 Euro for that alone. I think it's mad that you get all those plugins as well. Guess I'll have to grab them, just to change the colour of that bloody EQ if nothing else.
I guess that was the idea. Now THAT is what I call clever marketing. That and selling your plugins for a Euro each (I got out my calculator). I promise to post a screenshot so you can see what wonderful colours I come up with... Can you change to any colour or is it preset?
Never mind, I'm going to install them now.
As for the Scarlett stuff. Yes it is super nice. The compressor works well and is easy to use. You can dial in what you want very quickly. It sounds pumpingly great on drums. The EQ is a bit different with the knobs as opposed to say the DDMF and MKDR-Q visual way of doing things. But, even if all EQs are the same, this one sounds very nice to me. It reminds me a bit of Stillwell's 1973 which is supposed to be modelled on the Neve 1073 or something and is renowned for the sweetness of its top end boost without being harsh.
There is an interview with Rupert Neve btw at Pensado's Place #102 on youtube.
The Reverb is Ok. But it does the job in an unobtrusive way and uses practically nothing of CPU, so that is good. And the Gate, well I've said all there is to say already. As for you not getting much noise coming in from your synths, I think you are missing the point of what a noise gate is actually for: When my g/f shouts "Turn off that bloody noise", I whip out my noise gate and problem solved. You're really missing a trick with this one if you don't mind me saying so.
Anyway, I'm off to see what can be done about that EQ and its peculiar shade of.. of.. orange? brown? yellow? I don't know wtf it is. All Plugins should be Blue and let that be the end of it.

Yes, part of changing the color scheme and SIZE is why I bought them as well, but more importantly the ease of use and sound... just OMG, love em.
This is one upgrade I have never regretted at all.
Still hard to believe such a fully featured set of Free plugins exist.

Has anyone tried their MAutoAlign? I am new to this whole trying to fix my phase issue thing. Could it really be that easy?

You can change the SIZE as well? Sold! I think the g/f will be interested in that one as well.vaisnava wrote:Yes, part of changing the color scheme and SIZE is why I bought them
Seriously, I've got to get glasses, I'm going half blind staring at a screen 12 hours a day. And there are so many plugins I just can't use because of their size on my hi-res monitor - I'm looking at you Sytrus, Directwave and a host of others, well I'm trying to look at them, but I can't see them.
Still I suppose it's testament to how great these (small) plugins are that they are still around after all this time after being made on 640x480 monitors. Marvelous.
I bought a bigger monitor so the plugins would be BIGGER not smaller. Won't make that mistake again.
Just gonna buy me some BIGGER plugins. Super.

Another happy user here. I registered the free bundle, well deserved.
It would be even greater with... couhh cough... a single band chorus
Anyway, MTremolo, MAutoPan, MAutoPitch and many others are very useful for me.

Codec, I feel your pain on the small cryptic GUI's... Sytrus just collects digital dust.
Arglebargle, ss for the Analyzer, that might be the only negative thing I have to say about the Melda stuff... the Analyzer always just seems to bounce like crazy. However, I know that it is highly tweakable, I just never took the time to adjust it to my liking and rather just use my ears. Dig around and I think you may find the right settings to slow it down, smooth it out, etc.
