I'm dying to know what the action on this board is like. I put off buying a Fatar since it's announcement, and there are no reviews or anything on the web at all. I thought there'd be a little more heat on this board, seeing that it's specs are perfect (88 keys, sliders, hammer action, rotary encoders, usb, lightweight, cool looking). Anyone?????

Yes, I'd have thought there'd be a bit more interest in these too. They look great. Supposedly they've been shipping for several weeks now. Obviously MAudio's relationship with Evolution seems to be having its effect on new products since the buy out. The controller features look cool.
The big thing that's been lacking in the more "softsynth friendly" controller keyboards up until now has been the quality of the key action. And I don't mean any "feel of the keys" subjective stuff. I just mean the practical ability to generate a decent range of velocities between 1-127. Cheaper stuff tends to have big problems giving proper values for light touch (won't register at all, or will play velocities at 40 or 50 etc.)
I wonder if they've gone with a Fatar action, or if they're doing their own custom thing via someone else. If they have gone to Fatar then the price would strongly suggest one of Fatars cheapo 88 key actions is being used, rather than their better stuff.

There is a little info abut it here >>>
http://messe.harmony-central.com/Musikm ... ro-88.html
I am interested in more info on this to if anyone
has one yet .
I uderstand it is USB powerd , does that mean it takes it's power from the computer USB and does
not need to be pugged into a mains power socket ,
or is the USB an optional power supply
This is a concern to me as my USB port is full of
dongles

I've been curious about this one myself; oddly there's still no mention of it on the M-Audio website itself.
While it certainly looks very tempting, my one concern is that I've heard quite a few complaints over time about the overall build-quality of M-Audio's MIDI controller/keyboard line. So I'm also very interested in any feedback anyone who actually gets their hands on one finally can provide...it would be really nice if they "get it right" with this new model.

little cheapo Oxygen 8, you are probably aware
that M-audio took over Evolution recently, I know nothing about Evolution or their quality reputation (or M-audio's for that matter )but I seem to remember reading somewhere someone thought the Evolution take over would improve M-audio keyboards .
We will be anxiously watching this space luCiPHer

Went to SoundControl in London today to ask when they were going to stock them. The guy phoned up M-Audio and was told 5-6 weeks!!!
Bit annoying seeing as i e-mailed Dolphin Music in late April and they replied saying they would have them by the end of the month. I'm sure he meant April not May.
Don't know if i can wait that long. Maybe i'll just get a Fatar 990 with a UC-33e controller for knob twiddling.

That's pretty bad if you have paid around £400 and you don't get your product for 2 months. I don't think retailers should advertise items so early but we know it will always be the case.
Well i hope it's worth the wait!

The RRP is $599 which converts to £336 so thoretically stores should be knocking them out maybeThat's pretty bad if you have paid around £400
a little less than that .
Yes I saw Dolphin music have it marked up @ £399
= $710
maybe pre-release pre-orders are marked up to sting
you if they know you are gagging for it and no one
else has them available to order
