Oh.

What?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=code+blocks

:D

(the repository contains a Code::Blocks project folder, hence it's logical to assume that Code::Blocks will know what to do with it)

Ah... Crap... That's what I get for trying to be helpful...

I don't have a Windows partition handy, so I'm not going to "go the distance" to get proper instructions for how to get it up-and-running, but maybe somebody else will and post it here :D

If anyone interested, I can zip my version of Chaotic and put it into Dropbox.
You will have to unzip it into your program files folder then.

I'll give it a shot if you pass on the Dropbox link. :)

Certainly not fully-featured, but certainly capable at what it does do (so far?).

I hate things like this.
I feel often like I'm the only one who just wants a basic and quick DAW at a reasonable price. I'm 'stuck' using things that are dead or on the back burner like Chaotic or EnergyXT, Temper, Podium.

I'm not simply left with them, but rather, only find them after they're dead or long-still. Depressing and unfortunate.

I wish someone would take the now open Chaotic and do...something....

So, like................. what do you use?

Well, I've got something even better than just a snapshot of my installed chaotic app. I was able to find the installer.
The app has some functionality limitations if you don't have a valid license key.
Actually, I believe the limitation needs to be removed now as the app went open source, but I can't rebuild the project from the source as I completely moved to Mac.
And I do not want to install Windows/Virtual Machine and all the dependencies only to rework a bit of source code.
So, I'm including my license file in the archive.
What you need to do is extract the files from archive, run the installer, then go to the folder (something like "Program Files\Chaotic Music Maker\") and copy the license file there.

Here is the link to DropBox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xun4glqilrnbvlp/CMM.7z

Enjoy.

Ha ha!
energyXT or Reaper. Reaper works better, but it's also a mess of stuff I don't need now and never will. Its flow slows me down to a snails pace. (have to right-click and choose from a menu to add a VSTi to a track....having to go way up and into a menu to add a midi item/clip... really?!? In XT it's: drag and drop, double-click, done.
Pity. Just too much for someone like me as excellent a soft as it is (and it really, really is).

No VST support though, right? How much does it cost to licence vst? How did LMMS get open source vst support?

Here is the link to a youtube video posted a while ago, it has link to installer in video description section:

I have an original 1.08 installer which already includes a keyfile.

It was the last installer that could be downloaded from the Chaotix website.

If you can convince me that it is alright to share it publically ill be glad to do so.

PS: No PMs please. I will either share it here with everyone or not at all.

Licensing VST doesn't cost anything. (Except tons of developer time to implement the plugins hosting...)

Open source projects may be able to use VST without issues if their licensing is compatible. (What license does LMMS have, by the way? If it's GPL, that is kind of interesting as GPL'd software is speculated to not be legally compatible with VST...)

I am pretty sure you can share the installer and the keyfile here.
I guess what you have is this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q1ycfh45ro77y8w/CMM.7z
This is my version of Chaotic and license key.
