Well it better.

NI's making bold statements about it:

Am I the only one who's getting tired with all these new synth releases that are supposed to "cover all the bases"?

When we could use some better drum machine, alternative to Reaktor, better DAW workflow, better MIDI editing, better hardware controllers, or better amp and cabinet simulators?

I guess it's mid-musiclife crisis for me. I just am not bothered with synthesizers.
It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

My money's on Massive2 - the "M" seems to be an obvious hint. I'm wondering if it might have some modular capabilities, though.

Nope, you are not the only one. I am most of the time bored too and 95% of the time I don't care about the new synths. Especially when they all sound like each other and try so hard to emulate past hardware units. It really needs to bring something new and unusual on the table to catch my attention, otherwise... zzzzzzzzzzz...

Naw, I've pretty much become immune to all the hyperbole and I just try to judge each synth on its own merits.

This is my guess. Really nice fat analogue-ish sounds, too.
I certainly hope so!

I was so deep in this insanity that I was using Studio One's tone generator to make a REAL modular synth. That was actually more fun.

There is absolutely nothing about that video, except the letter M, that suggests this is Massive 2! All the graphics are clearly pointing toward analog modular emulation territory. I think they are releasing what they consider a competitor to DIVA, or something like that.

where I'm less certain is if it's Reaktor synth or not....the press says, "One synth to rule them all. Years of meticulous research and the latest in cutting-edge DSP technology combine to deliver a virtual synth with teeth. Stay tuned."...

...which makes it sound like a standalone product, you'd think, but NI has done this kind of crap before, hyping something then revealing that you need Guitar Rig to run it, etc. And since they have that Reaktor Player........hard to say.

I'm interested though, either way.

The start of the video also says "A revolution is coming".

Oh good, another revolution in audio software. Can't even keep up with all the revolutions.

Where was NI's description of one synth to rule them all?
