I suppose it could be Massive 2...perhaps it has become more modular and the analog-style oscillator seen in the vid is just one of the oscillator modes, now completely separated from the wavetable scanning oscillator. Who knows. A Massive 2 really is overdue. If that's what it is, I hope they haven't jettisoned the drag-and-drop modulation routing and "rings of Saturn" around the knobs - I've always liked Massive's interface.
something new from NI

Maybe the "M" stands for NI Monolith or some other name that starts with "M" and sounds appropriately monumental for the one to "rule them all."

It's like 6-7 years since NI launched Massive and FM8 now, so it's about time they brought out a new standalone synth

NI are pretty good with the slick ad campaigns and the ad copy...Numanoid wrote:Well it better.V0RT3X wrote:This sounds pretty cool though
NI's making bold statements about it:Are they prepared to take on Diva?NI wrote:one synth to rule them all
They said that Studio Drummer was THE new drum throne....
What a load of BS that turned out to be...
I'm looking in my crystal ball again and although it's a little dusty,I'm seeing a VA synth...
It could be Massive 2...
Or it might be Mebra or Miva

On the German homepage it says "Der neue King of Analog" -> something like "The new king of Analogue"
So it will definitely be something subtractive. The vintage knobs support this. And because they say that it took years of development it might be their contribution to the latest trend of those CPU eating zero latency filter synths like DIVA. If this is all the news for K9 I'm gonna skip this one too. Still on Komplete 6 and happy.

They say it has teeth... The M can only be MOLAR!
Actually, I hope not. Grinding industrial noises? I would prefer the cutting leads of NI INCISOR.
It could be called Mandible, of course. Doesn't sound very appealing though.
I'll stop now, but I do hope that it's not a disappointment. There are so many excellent soft synths out now that anything new needs to bring something special to the party...

it must be Reaktor 6 (or an equivalent release): the modular pic in the video, the bold statement and the quite different sounding demos.

Maybe what they have done is included some high level pre built synth components in Reaktor 6, eg bits of Massive, Absynth etc, maybe some fx too, but enabled them to be strung together using modular routing? That would be very cool.mellotronaut wrote:it must be Reaktor 6 (or an equivalent release): the modular pic in the video, the bold statement and the quite different sounding demos.

There's an oscillator switch dial in the vid. Making it most unlikely to be Massive 2.
Somebody might have already said that though

Several links to different graphic elements in the HTML code is name with the name Monark. Like these:

My guess is on Monark.

Yeah, it seems like it. Unless Monark is some sort of codename or a really complicated acronym.
It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.
