I've got the three (Ampkit+, Jamup pro and Amplitube) and most of the in-apps and I'm using Ampki Link. I find myself using the Ampkit+ most of the time which has tons of presets. Maybe Ampkit Link is the somehow better optimized for the software (like irig/amplitube or jamup plug/jamup) and I remember reading somewhere about Jamup and some phase problem with Ampkit Link.
But they all have their good features like the Loop Drummer in Amplitube.
And I'm going to buy the iRig HD when available.

just saw that this thread came up again. love hearing everyones opinions. I need to try audiobus out with Jamup and see if I can incorporate that into my music making. liking jam up and amplitube, although as was mentioned earlier, they each have their own character, and pros/cons.
BTW the Peavey ampkit link is great. way worth the money (and it's pretty cheap).

Apogee Jam + Amplitube AND Jam Up.
+1 to whoever said get the full Amplitube app, I have both laptop and iPad versions. With Apple's Mainstage I can use Amplitube as an insert - in as many instances as I want - and get a guitar orchestra out. Yeahhhhh

I really like the combination of JamUp with the Apogee Jam interface along with audiobus to record with other apps...

And with the next update of AmpliTube it will be on the Audiobus so you'll have more options available to you.erikbojerik wrote:Apogee Jam + Amplitube AND Jam Up.

When is that happening? I've already spent about $30 with JamUp with expansions, due to lack of Audiobus in Amplitube and AmpKit+. I am ready to buy more expansion packs for Sampletank if you guys get in there as well.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:And with the next update of AmpliTube it will be on the Audiobus so you'll have more options available to you.erikbojerik wrote:Apogee Jam + Amplitube AND Jam Up.

Next update is supposed to be submitted very soon. I'll PM you to keep this from veering the thread off-topic and to get into the further-OT SampleTank question. Thanks!polaris20 wrote:When is that happening? I've already spent about $30 with JamUp with expansions, due to lack of Audiobus in Amplitube and AmpKit+. On the contrary, Peter. People should know that Audiobus is coming to Amplitube, because it's a major feature, and Amplitube is an awesome amp modeler.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Next update is supposed to be submitted very soon. Jam Up pro and it's associated bundles are on sale right now. Wasn't going to buy it (or any of the others) at full price, but I'm quite pleased with the combination of Jam Up Pro and Sampletank.

Wow I had never returned to update the thread about Audiobus but people seemed to have been alerted
Also, we had this planned and I swear we weren't copying... but we have some gear on sale now too in AmpliTube: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/promos/?item_id=2562

Do any of the current crop of amp sim/processors offer dual input processing? On my laptop I've been using Guitar Rig to run my Chapman Stick thru as it can take the left and right inputs and process them separately. The only way I can see doing this on iPad is to purchase one of the Auria guitar plugin packs and run it with live inputs. While this could be ok, it would be nice to save some processing power that could be used for signal processing instead...

Biggest thing that got me with ik is what the user above pointed out. Two purchases needed for iPhone and ipad. I like the ability to use both and paying twice is not an option.
Also, it seems like they leave out key components even in their bundles like a reverb - just keep on trying to make a few bucks. Plus the pop up adds - c'mon.. Really?
It's also kind of hard to ferret out this info online.
How about a chart IK of what is included in each bundle and what is only available as an in app purchase?

Kind of a necro thread, but you can see more information here: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/am ... d-versions
If you click "More Info" on either AmpliTube or AmpliTube Free you'll see the included gear. There are also drop downs near the bottom with more options and details.
If you want to use a single version on both of your devices, you can get the iPhone version then use it on your iPad as well (you'll be limited to the iPhone graphics though with the option to blow it up 2x as with all iPhone apps when run on iPad). In-app messages have been greatly reduced recently (definitely since this thread had been posted and active).
Hope that helps.
