Wow! They put out a huge "pack" update for session drums, not only doesn't it fix the core problem (things not being grouped properly) but they didn't even do it for all of session drums, just multimic, which it doesn't matter.......cuz they DIDN'T FIX it anyways
I'm really pissed. This was such a joy to use in 8.4, I can't fathom why it's not a top priority

I do believe that should be factored into the equation regarding any inconveniences and shortcomings, and even if you don't get Push using a Launchpad (low as $99 I have seen) you can punch in and record takes so easily sitting away from the DAW, and see and control playback without getting out of your chair. As a guitarist I sit far away from my desk and record and arrange stuff so easily. Anyone with a Launchpad should get LPC, it is really great. And this is likely way more clumsy than Push will be. Anyhow I don't know of any real alternatives and I try and live in the here and now
so can't count on Bitwig to solve my needs of today in some far off tomorrow.
I suspect I am going to be seduced by Push...

I don't see why you are so upset... these are betas afterall... it will all get sorted out within a couple point updates after initial release, and in the meanwhile, keep using Live 8.4 until 9 is where you are happy with it...

Yup, it's amazing how angry people are on the beta forum about things not working - it's a beta!!!pdxindy wrote:hibidy wrote:Wow! I guess hats what happens when you do an open Beta, no one is complaining about Bitwig stuff not working properly!
The reality is here will be bugs and the need for further improvements on release- Cubase 7 had two point releases in a few months for stability. I'm happy wit the 64 but Live 9 release as beta, no crashes, just stuff that needs tweaking; there will be lots and lots of releases and improvements in 9 (before we get to 10) all via auto update

Just took the opportunity to get the upgrade to Ableton Live 8 Suite (from Standard version) with an included free Live 9 upgrade.
Already had a few single plugins like e.g. Analog and Sampler but the additional ones in the Suite are really nice. Also looking forward to the additional plugins in Live 9 Suite like e.g. the Glue and Max 4 Live.
As i just sold the AAS Modeling collection this is a nice way to have some AAS plugins again and those Live instruments (Analog, Tension, Electric, Colision) seem to be based on some of those AAS plugins (e.g. Ultra Analog, String Studio, Lounge Lizard, Chromaphone). The planned purchase for the Live 8/9 Suite was one reason to sell the Modeling collection.
Also nice to have Operator now as recently i became more interested in FM.

Will do.sl1914 wrote:There are some very useful max4live devices in Live9 Suite.
Very useful in changing sounds.
Make sure you check those.
Max 4 Live was one reason to get the Live 9 Suite (and Live 8 Suite) upgrade.

Don;t know if anyone on here knows this. But if I buy a used Suite 8 license, do I get an automatic upgrade to SUite 9?
Or if not, what's the pricing policy?
I honsestly can;t fathom Ableton's price setting.

Why would you? That'd mean all Suite 8 owners also got one too.CPCompany wrote:Don;t know if anyone on here knows this. But if I buy a used Suite 8 license, do I get an automatic upgrade to SUite 9?

And so begins the m4l sell-off. Seems there are alot of people out there wanting it so if you want a better upgrade price might as well sell it while you can if you got suite+m4l
I dont think alot of the people on the beta forum are really complaining in an angry manner, more so they just cant believe some of the stuff that ableton is willing to ship out with being broken. Knowing that alot of people probably work in a similar manner and will immediately be pissed at ableton for such and such not working right. Im sure they will all get fixed in point updates, I think everyone was hoping to avoid a rehash of live 8 though
