Piano too loud? It sounded big but not overwhelming on my B&W speaker and on my Grados -I was after a big but well spread out tone. Now I hear what you mean while listening on my walkman 'phone here at work. Damn! Tricky business this mixing.

Depends what it is, spent quite a long time on this one, probably about 10 hours, slow stuff is always harder to do, the facking dynamics and all that.

But there was barely 10 waking hours between the competition starting and you submitting your entry!!!

I took about 8 hours, I think.

Donkey Tugger- Dang, and the donk-sound softens more and more. And I love every second of it Thought the kick was a tad too present though. And the vox could have been improved a bit too. But boy I am getting dragged more and more into your sound. Would love to put my remix fingers on this one after the contest

Warbug – whew! Now that’s what I call pace. Great combination of loops with a supernasty bass added on top.

Blitz – A different piece of music; very breakbeat oriented. I would have loved to hear that bass play a much more prominent role throughout the tune to give more jazz. It’s there but way too burried somehow.

Thomasc-dk – That’s odd, I thought I heard a track that was so odd. Superly cool and greatly experimental like each month. Look forward to listening to yours every month. Think the toms could have done with a bit more panning, but that was just me I think.

Fitch – A first I have heard in the contest from you. Nothing beats the real instrument played by one who can make the instrument sing Simply and stunningly beautiful.

Eric Bourne – Welcome to the contests (oh ps and blitz too). Great mood you put down with these relaxing sounds. That harpish sound was so crisp and clear, although the hard panning felt a bit too hard to me. Not sure if your aim was for an open ending, but I missed an ending here a bit.

Patrick9 – And also welcome to the monthly contest. There was a nasty lil click at 0.28 which distracted a bit. You did something coolishly strange with the drums giving it a strange but cool groove. I personally think the balance of the sounds in the stereo-field could have been done differently but that are my own ears. I like the concept very much putting haiku (although I thought it was more tanga) to music such as this.... More please

EarthTones – Okay so the vox had a few eeekie tones, but still I like this one quite a lot. Great arrangement on the backing, but some better and richer strings would bring this tune up very much. The plinkies starting at 0.56 were a superb touch and a great sound where are they from?

Wopelka – Yup, you do it every month again and again. In your own personal style you create a great smile on my face. I just love the background happening there. Your sound has grown so much, I just love hearing your tracks; call me prejudiced

Kajiki – And natasha must be beautiful indeed. I just love the feel of this piano and how it is FX’ed to bring that soft and 78” record feel. I can just say Wow and exhale again.

Sason – Thats the great thing about the free for all. You never know what to expect, and so I get thrown into some delicious funk. It most certainly brings back that fonky feel. I must say I’m amazed as you have the various instruments in a great groove. Cool piece of work, and I wouldn’t worry too much about that breakdown. Makes it only more funky and interesting too.

Pheeleep – I think you did the lyrical qualities of Tupac much proud with this new piece of music you built here. The drumloop is just tight here and very befitting to the tune. The guitar is just perfect to change into a more classical setup of sounds. Impressive

Glooper – More guitares . I have a feeling that the vox somehow needed to be lifted a tad in the verses. The first chorus everything seems in balance, but in the verses and second chorus when the electric guitar kicks in it seems to draw the energy out of the vox. Hmmmm, then again I have strange ears. I liked this sound, although its not directly my cup of tea.....

The new version is better. A lot better. It's illuminating to hear the difference. I've always wanted to hear side-by-side samples of proper mixing/mastering vs. less-than-perfect mixes. I'm glad I got to hear the original but the update is superior. It has a different atmosphere and seems tighter. It made me like the song even more.

Now about that rocking chair... Maybe we could get Matias or Liqih to build a proper Rocking Chair VSTi (or AU ) so we could all benefit. I can't fit a real chair in my studio. But the digital bluesmen of the future will need this plug-in running on their laptops when they busk outside Starbucks. The VSTi could be beat-synced to the tempo and have parameters for the chair's style, age, wood type, and a real impulse-modeled noise floor!

Wopelka - Funny little song I think of little green elves who live at the bottom of rainbows . Concerning sound, you need some deesser on vocals, some ss's are a bit too loud.
