i'm trying to make progressive trance in fruity loops. someone told me to check out sample packs and vsti. what's the difference between the sounds that are included in sample packs and vst plugins. i'm thinking about buying the fruity loops signature edition. where do i get my sounds from to make progressive trance? i need basslines, pads, beats and snares, goa sounds and effects too.

thats strange...they havent made fruity loops in over ten years.
but seriously....youre better off making the sounds yourself and not using sample packs at all....especially for trance.
the difference is sample packs are premade loops and sounds vsts are the instruments and effects you use to make your own.
fl studio has everything you need. plus theres crap loads of free vstis all over the net. this should start you off:

also go check out tutorials on youtube...theres hundreds. you could just search "progressive trance bassline tutorial" and find more videos than youll ever need. dont use a premade bassline...go learn how to make one. youll be glad you did.

dont forget that here on kvr there is a searchable database of free plugs. Personally I would start with the developer challenges and go from there.
