I hate the kontakt player. I was extremely unimpressed with the free version. Kore(1) was interesting for all of 20 minutes when I couldn't get internet access. Though mostly I was disappointed with the ui in comparison to Alchemy as well I wanted more instruments on more channels. Alchemy kicked Kore to the Kurb for me I didn't need to go thru the whole Kore2 fiasco. It's pretty sad when I can pull up "close enough" samples in Wusik Station faster and having closer resemblence to the sound I want then in anything NI has to offer. Oddly I was unimpressed with Wusik at first but I've grown to rely on it more often now.

Now if NI were to release a host like..Cantible and a bread and butter library like Krome or Kurzwiel pc3 then I'd be interested.

If lost the desire to endlessly be searhing for sounds that I can use and endlessly tweaking something into a usable form.

This. Well, almost. I own Cantabile, so I don't care if NI clones it; I'm staying with Cantabile; 99.9% perfection (holding out for pitch-independent tempo adjustment on the media player). But man, if NI just released in addition to its massive set one small library with strictly bread and butter sounds, grouped by instrument, and a decent Leslie sim on the organ, that would do me for 95% of my live work. Maybe 99%.

Sure possible. The colors remind me of a Traktor controller though..

Battery 4? My prayers have been answered.

Unless it's Maschine Mk III, then whole NI staff will answer for this. :x
It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

the strange thing is they have note blocks coming AT the pads.. on battery it is the other way around.. incoming 'notes' hit the pad and then generate the sounds..

It does look like a Maschine thing a little. I wonder if they are doing a Geist style update to Battery with a built-in sequencer?

pretty sure they have a stepsequencer in battery 4. at least that's what everyone has been asking them.

Well, and it would be like NI not to put a stepsequencer there but try Kore 3? Maybe? :D

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the new Maschine sort of thing. Like Ableton Push. NI Pushion. NI Cush. Or something.

Since the introduction of Studio Drummer and the Abbey Road series, Battery occupies a very strange space in the NI product lineup.

My big problem with Battery was always that there were all these great, tweakable, kits and drum sounds, but no really convenient way to play them. Adding internal FX and everything else that Battery 3 now has came close, but still didn't conquer the usability factor.

Instead, it seemed that NI wanted users to exploit the relationship between Battery and Kontakt, specifically Kontakt's 'drum computer' feature. Very cumbersome, but still, it's there.

Now, NI users who have Battery, Kontakt and Studio Drummer have access to an amazing beat library, but there's no cross-pollination with Battery's awesome array of kits and pieces. A Battery 4 sequencer would be great, and about time. But unfortunately, I personally will only believe it when I see it.

"seeing is believing" .... sounds like a controller with visual feedback of the waveform or something like that ?

Strange :

The 'revolution' just disapears from the NI homepage ... ????
