something new from NI

I can't route Battery outputs to separate busses in FL, and I'd love to be able to do this. I've looked in the manual, but can't find anything. Kontakt has a multi out version which does show up properly, but I don't have the CPU for that.

I often use MIDI loops or export MIDI from Jamstix or uTonic to trigger Battery.BERFAB wrote:My big problem with Battery was always that there were all these great, tweakable, kits and drum sounds, but no really convenient way to play them.
Never really worried about there not being something within the software itself, but that would be a little more convenient.

said it ages ago and will say it again
Battery 4 will have a sequencer that saves in a format useable by maschine
This means battery 4 is a huge expansion pack for Maschine, but seeing as all the komplete VST integrate well maschine owners might as well buy that
And for komplete/battery owners this means that maschine expansions will work for them and they will always know that there is this amazing midi controller that they could buy
Basically it generates sales by making itself a half way house between other products
PS the coloured cells look exactly like those on maschine 2

I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

If we can create stuff for Maschine in Battery, and visa-versa, I will be very pleased. Like use Battery as a "browser" for Maschine...because there's something a bit tedious about using Maschine IN another DAW. So perhaps this could be a way to start out by sketching a song in Maschine, then later add it to a DAW by using the patterns, samples, effects, etc. in Battery 4. Integration with Komplete is what kinda sold me on Maschine, so this is really a step in the right direction.ericj23 wrote:said it ages ago and will say it again

For sheer ease of use with midi files, I really think that Steven Slate's relatively new player gets it right. Easy handling of midi files, and everything is a drag'n'drop affair. Kitcore also is very good at this, though it seems development has been suspended on this for some reason.robojam wrote:I often use MIDI loops or export MIDI from Jamstix or uTonic to trigger Battery.BERFAB wrote:My big problem with Battery was always that there were all these great, tweakable, kits and drum sounds, but no really convenient way to play them.

I don't need really need or want a full blown integrated sequencer when my DAW will do nicely. But being able to import and spit out Midi files is key to the way I work.

Does anyone think it would be awesome if we could have 8x8 Maschine tied to Battery?
It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

It would be nice to think that NI are acting logically.

You are misquoting me. I never said 'Battery 4? My prayers have been answered.'cYrus wrote:pretty sure they have a stepsequencer in battery 4. at least that's what everyone has been asking them.VitaminD wrote:Battery 4? My prayers have been answered.
I wonder if they are doing a Geist style update to Battery with a built-in sequencer?
