I hardly ever use Battery - can't even remember the last time I fired it up. But I recall routing to multi-outputs in FL being fairly strightforward.osiris wrote:I can't route Battery outputs to separate busses in FL, and I'd love to be able to do this. I've looked in the manual, but can't find anything. Kontakt has a multi out version which does show up properly, but I don't have the CPU for that.

You can do it in Ableton Live by selecting a channel for each drum and then routing the audio from that channel to another track - repeat for each drum and use a different track for each drum/channel.Redspark wrote:I hardly ever use Battery - can't even remember the last time I fired it up. and if you do it in a drum rack, with external instrument, you can keep things nice and tidy and collected...robojam wrote: You can do it in Ableton Live by selecting a channel for each drum and then routing the audio from that channel to another track - repeat for each drum and use a different track for each drum/channel.

It would be rather nice to have easy access to all maschine kits and expansions in battery. I've never been that interested to see a sequencer in battery since any host does that already.

Haven't done it for a long time, but that makes sense - I'll use that one next time. Thanks!chroma wrote:and if you do it in a drum rack, with external instrument, you can keep things nice and tidy and collected...robojam wrote: You can do it in Ableton Live by selecting a channel for each drum and then routing the audio from that channel to another track - repeat for each drum and use a different track for each drum/channel.

I thought synth master was the one synth to rule them all.
Okay so if its a moog VA who is going to program the famous sounds that we want? They need to pull off what Nori has done with synthmaster and the presets he has created for all the past prog masters. Its not what we can do in the creating of sounds that are unique that the market is demanding its making the sounds of the past that matter most.
Rock is becoming more like classical music were you have to cover past greats to earn respect. The sounds they are coming out with now do not eclipse those of the past anyway especially the analog gear. It is getting closer but I just don't think it sounds the same and as an old memory moog owner I know what that analog moog sounds like.

Yeah, we should quit playing violins, cellos, pianos, acoustic guitars, electric guitars and every other instrument that is older than 15 years. Yes, they sound fabulous. But F that! There has to be something listenable somewhere in all this noise pollution we've been putting out in electronica for the last 10 years.atraf11 wrote: who cares about those old sounds jesus get lets move on were not in the 70s/80s anymore we need OUR OWN SOUND those of you who are chasing after the old stuff are just dinosaurs who are rotten from the inside

I think what he was attempting to say, in an non-elegant and frankly rude way, was.. a guitar, a piano, a violin.. those have very limited range of timbre.. or 'sounds.'
But a synthesizer has MUCH more range in this respect.. yet we limit ourselves to a certain set of sounds from these instruments, timbres mostly designed in the 70s and 80s.
That said, a bass is a bass.. a sawtooth lead is a sawtooth lead... yeah we can make them sound different but the basic bread and butters tend to blend well and people generally seem to identify with them easily. Can't throw the baby out with the bathwater.. have to drain that tub slowly :cP

So do we know what the thing is, yet?
Battery with the Massive-synth-engine available on a per cell basis? Now that would be something!
