Hi,
currently I'm focusing on 2 things:
1-
bringing the strumming process more easy by managing the sustain control differently.
2-
creating a true model for the 'fret/strings sliding noise at note release'. Unlike other Guitar virtual instruments, I will bring a true simulation of the slide noise, not a sampling of it. And linked to a keyswitch or automated in the performance, I have to think on.
And yes, you're right :), 'pinch harm' need a separate keyswitch control (too difficoult to perform 'manually'). Planned for next updates.
...And starting research for the next simulation...

This sounds rather interesting.xhunaudio wrote: creating a true model for the 'fret/strings sliding noise at note release'. Does this mean techniques like pick scrape may also be possible to simulate?

Sure, with physical modeling everything can be simulated, from pick scrape to future weather changes :)cc80536 wrote: This sounds rather interesting.

Seriously, with IronAxe version 1.x I would provide a stable, easy to control and complete model of the Electric Guitar instrument (with featured multi pickups, etc.) and FX and Cabinets and basic techniques. Different techniques sometimes require a completely different type of interaction (the way an instrument is excited) to be simulated, and so it requires more time to do.
The final goal is to let the user control IronAxe model in any way he/she would make with real electric guitars. So I will expand IronAxe potentials in a near future.

Hi everybody,
glad to announce that IronAxe is now available at a discounted price (with the Xmas 2012 Special Offer initiative).
IronAxe can now be purchased for only Euro 79,90 (instead of Euro 99,00) as a single product, or included in the XA Instruments Bundle and XA Complete Bundle, saving more money.
The offer is valid until January, 6th 2013.
In addition to this, SmartRig Pro, a new product derived from IronAxe's FX section (but with several added features) has just been released. A very affordable and useful tool, IMO.
For all details, audio demos, demo versions and more feel free to visit www.xhun-audio.com
Thank you, have a great Xmas,
Bruno

IronAxe update is finally ready. It will be available in a few hours for download.
This update is sort of 'service pack' that fixes several issues of previous versions, specially at high Host sample rates. Thanks a lot to all Users for their patience/waiting. Obviously it will be free of charge for all registered Users.

IronAxe has been updated to version 1.2.1 and it is now available for download and free of charge for all registered Users.
The first in a series of 'service packs' for IronAxe software, this Update will bring some important fixes and new addons.
Changes in IronAxe version 1.2.1:
# The whole simulation engine now features 100% physics accuracy at 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz sample rates
# The 96kHz damping/response issue has been fixed
# Improved analogue response for all pickups (single-coil, humbucker, steelplate)
# Improved Overdrive stompbox response - even at 96kHz
# Including Ambiverb stompbox, a resonator-based reverb
# Improved Amp/Cabinet Simulation engine - now more CPU-efficient
# Room Simulation engine ver 2.0 - featuring an improved accuracy, front channel processing and signal amplitude attenuation
# Improved factory presets
# Minor fixes on the DSP side

Hey Bruno, your info above implies greater CPU efficiency in some components, would you say overall it is less demanding on resources? I have just downloaded 1.2.1 and hope to upgrade on my DAW (Cubase 7) this week... looking forward to that!

the Amp/Cabinet code has been rewritten and it has now greater CPU efficiency and requires less memory to run, so the whole simulation is less demanding on resources, specially with multi-instances.

Hello everybody,
IronAxe version 1.3 has just been released. This update brings an improved, less memory-hungry Amp/Cabinet Simulation engine (rewritten at low-level).
Summary of changes:
# Improved Amp/Cabinet Simulation engine low-level architecture.
# Minor fixes on the DSP side.
Thank you for your attention, have a nice day.
PS: I know Cubase 7 is not so much diffused at now (some people prefer to stay on version 6.5 for a while yet before upgrading to 7), but any of you here ever used IronAxe (ver 1.3) with the latest version of Cubase (7.0.2)? Feedbacks from you would be welcome!

When I purchased Iron Axe I of course did it because of it's quality - but I did spend the money especially gladly because of the sympathetic appearance of the developer Bruno Bordi in this forum.
In my opinion the instrument itself leaves the physical modeling guitar of Applied Acoustics far behind - this really gives hope that we will have an authentically physically modeled guitar in my lifetime. Almost unbelievable that one man made what whole companies didn't make.
Kind regards,
Heiner

Hi
What is the copy protection scheme for this ?
I made all of my plugins portable using nsis scripts (i need to be able to run everything from external drives), and I'd like to know if this would work with this (is it machine dependent, does it write to registry etc)
Thanks

it is currently based on the Win registry. Something not intrusive.
With the incoming cross-platform, the copy protection for all products will evolve into something different. Can't provide additional infos at now, by the way, it will not be intrusive, at all.

Hi,geoslake wrote:Non intrusive doesn't mean much to me, has to be portable. Well, I guess its a no go for me...
it doesn't require a 'full' installation and it is based on the Keyfile model. From this development stage it is 100% 'portable' (but not included yet in current official products release).
I wish I had been helpful,
