Unfortunately, I'm not getting that (win7x64) Is it possible that it's a plug in?shanecgriffo wrote:getting some pretty regular crashes on start up here

Purchased 9 Studio and installed 9 plus most of the packs (minus the session drums for the moment cause I have enough drums). Took about 2 1/2 hours to download. The orchestral instruments sound quite good, but they remind me why I like synthesis more... I'm sure I will put them to some use. No crashes or problems so far. It is cool to finally have M4L.

Thinking that it would have been nice for them to have some way to Rewire Live8 as a slave to Live9 specifically so people had some way of keeping running older M4L patches (or allow Live9 x64 access to M4L patches which rely on 32-bit objects)

Good luck on the cold (sucks for musicians).elxsound wrote:...
I've been playing with the piano and I love it at times, but the velocity seems off to me. Everything seems a bit too loud, but I'm fighting off a cold too so my ears (sinus issues) are just f**d right now.
You may be right about the velocity. I've only tested it using an Akai MPK mini. It's interesting - I've noticed, for example, the FF sample only plays on V=127. Guess that's about right, but catching that on a mini is a matter of luck. If I solo it, it's sorta random which "bang" is going to trigger that. Can change the velocity sensitivity for all samples with the macro of course, but that doesn't change what velocity value triggers it (can't change the v-curve on the mini, but I got a "regular" MPK I'll play with later).
It's still a huge improvement over Live's original piano, though, which aliased and had some weird (to my ears) resonances. For EDM and hip-hop though, maybe that's a plus. Skryllex used it, and there were no complaints
OT - another shout-out to Cytomic: Providing that coupon for Glue owners was a real class act. I'll be purchasing The Drop soon enough (I would have anyway of course, but now I'll be feeling awesome about it

I have a problem in ver9 in the midi preferences for controllers. In the port type it's just gray with me unable to click on anything. In 8 I would select direct music to use the controller. I downloaded the 64 bit version of 8 and it works in there.

Not sure which release version of 8 you're using but somewhere along the line I started to have an issue whereby 32-bit Live would only recognize a controller if it were plugged in before booting Live, and it was sensitive to the port. Probably an OsX issue so it might not apply, but try the old "unplug-plug-different port" thang if you haven't already.budd1405 wrote:I have a problem in ver9 in the midi preferences for controllers. Didn't have the problem till one of the more recent releases (8.3 maybe). I think that's when they added mapping for a bunch of controllers.

Thanks for the answer. I'm unable to change the port at all, it's just gray on everything not just on the controller port but all the ports I have in there. On the version 8 64 bit this function works fine. So it's a bit bafflingJoeCat wrote:Not sure which release version of 8 you're using but somewhere along the line I started to have an issue whereby 32-bit Live would only recognize a controller if it were plugged in before booting Live, and it was sensitive to the port. Sorry - I wasn't being clear: I meant changing the physical USB port the controller is plugged into. Shouldn't matter, but sometimes it does.budd1405 wrote:...

im loving live 9,its workflow has vastly been improved overall, the new features aside from the workflow are innovative and although audio to midi doesnt always work it can create a certain mood for a song(especially basslines)
ive got push on pre-order and im looking forward to the future of live!

I am really getting warmed up to Push. It's missing a few features, but it's on Ableton's list. The nice thing is that it can be easily updated via Live itself. The built quality is great and the fact that it can be USB powered is quite impressive!hibidy wrote:I will be interested once push shows up for people how they'll get on with it.
