Key for 1.4

Hi, I've read through various threads and it looks like EXT used to use a physical key. I just bought the software and it used a number key that you enter. I want to install 1.4 and emailed EXT support, but of course there's been no reply. Is there some method I can use to install 1.4 if all I have is a number installation key for EXT2.6?

just put your energyxt key in the XT1.4 root folder and your good to go.

There's no key, though. That's what I'm saying. It's just a standard serial that you enter in an entry field.

Look, I'm really not trying to be a jerk, but THERE IS NO PHYSICAL KEY FOR XT2.6. I don't know how to make that any clearer.
Here is the relevant step from the email.
2) Launch energyXT, then click the "Unlock" button and enter your name and serial. If everything is OK you will see your name in the title of energyXT.
I activated the software by entering a number, not by locating a keyfile. So the instructions for renaming a key to "Massiva.key" are not valid.
It sounds like the method of activation changed for 2.6 and that there is no longer a physical key. I really do thank all of you for your time, but it sounds like I need to wait to hear back from XT support, however long that takes.
