No I was just trying get a Python sketch going is all. Seems everyone hear is too young to remember don't like Python or mostly don't get my lame attempt at humour.

I love Python (the humorists; I don't know the interpreted programming language)! But I admit I didn't get the reference...

GIMP is free, but I find it a bit complicated to use...

"Is this the right room for an argument?" with Eric Idle and John Cleese I believe. Ithink it is on the first film "And Now for Something Completely Different" If have never seen then I kin of envy you since you can enjoy it for the very first time.

OK, I know that skit – but I still don’t remember anything about shoes. I have all the TV episodes on DVD and watch ‘em over and over… I much prefer them to most anything on the tube these days… I haven’t seen that film in a long long time if ever…

Gordon, I think I may like “Solaz” best of your entries so far. Some of those drum bits are amazing. I still think your music sounds sophisticated – especially compared to my work (I’m lucky to have up to 12 distinct notes and a couple chords in any of my songs) – but your songs are always rewarding. Does the title have any special significance?

Remember, there were a few different rooms that the protagonist (Chapman) went to: Arguments (I told you once), Abuse (Stupid git!), Complaints (Look at these shoes), and Being Hit on the Head (Waaaah!).

Thansk so much George! That's so good to hear. My titles are usually a gestalt that comes from who knows where but this one is a play on the word Solace.

Please note that there is a beautiful Horace Silver tune which bears no ressemblance whatsoever to this track. I would hesitate to even presume to refer to Horace Silver in any context related to my music except only to say check him out if you never had the privilege to hear him. He was IMO a giant in pantheon of Jazz pianist/composers. "Lonely Woman" still destroys me.

I was thinking about sol, sun, summer, the tropics and then I imagined myself in a loud floral shirt sipping strong drinks with bits of fruit and umbrellas in them. Solace for sure!

Definitely not tropics as I hate the the sun and heat. I'll take a cool clear trout stream and an overcast sky any day.

Thanks Mystahr, the plinkies are from a patch I mangled in z3ta+. Any suggs on where to get richer strings from? Were you thinking more authentic sounding?

On a more serious note: been listening to all the entries - very impressive stuff in there, it's going to be hard to vote. It's also cool to see to see people actually fit whole songs structures into two minutes and less.

That's why I tend toward pop songs. I'm a lazy experimentalist at heart, but for these monthly contests I try to make little self-contained synopses of what I'm up to lately. I hear some of the entries and am really impressed by the sound and the attitude. I need to learn how to polish all the rough edges...
