It has a lot more zing than "Finally, a synth that you might use five times before forgetting about...."

Where's the next update to FM8?
I don't think they want to give us too much at once.. the code base is rather developed at this point so there isn't a huge space to the ceiling left..

so we will probably see these smaller updates for ahwile.. next maybe FM9 and Kontakt7.. next maybe GR7 and some unbundled GR effects with a sample library thrown in... etc less huge updates more one big update to a single product with smaller update(s) thrown in.

Which is why it still makes sense to upgrade every other version at the earliest with Komplete. This is not new, people. :hihi:

there's no reason why it can't be an excellent little synth if that's your thing...but such hyperbole for a mono synth emulation is really not necessary...

everyone was interested in the (supposed) synth to rule them all...just look back at the speculation as to what it could have been......even a real moog aint the synth to rule them all, so an emu is hardly gonna be

no matter how good it is, it doubt it will get near the level that NI marketed it at...the disappointment is understandable, though i can imagine it being more about the frustration at having fallen for yet another slick marketing campaign

perhaps when you use it, you will agree with the hype, and end up selling all your other synths

Omg hyperbole about hyperbole omg! :hihi:

I don't think you understand the concept of 'supply and demand too well'. Why would paying customers' opinions not matter?

So people should buy the product before making a decision to buy it? Most people make decisions as to whether they should buy something based on a description of the product...

Oh, and you might want to read the forum rules before you start butting into threads and calling people "stupid"

I was wondering when the NI Marketing Team might show up.

One synth to rule them all, sort of implies that NI is about to take on Omnisphere launching a synth that incorporates all kind of synthesis into one shiny dream machine.

But when the product is unveiled, it doesn't match the hype:

"MONARK captures the pure organic sound of the undisputed king of monophonic analog synthesizers."

Monark is no doubt a capable synth, but NI should have used less "false advertising", that is what have created the disappointed comments in the thread today...

When NI called Massive, FM8, and Absynth "synthesizers", then a monophonic Reaktor ensemble is simply not in the same league.

When they introduced Massive (2007?), they did not make it a monophonic reaktor ensemble with three wavetables and one filter - they made a complex instrument. Maybe they had real pride in their work and creativity back then. Now they specialize in sampling - not the most intellectually challenging work. And they sell bundles like Crysonic ("10.000 worth for 1000!")

We will probably never again see a generic new, full-fledged, C-coded synth from NI - which is a shame, given all the know-how they accumulated. The bean-counters obviously do not expect enough secure return from such a project, and leave it to the indenpendent developers.

With the zero-delay-feedback filters, NI had ground-breaking technology at their hands, and then they could not (or did not want to) turn it into a "real" product in a reasonable time (while Urs sold his "Diva" in thousands). Not a good sign for someone, who was once a leader in technology.

I will disagree on that one.

Honestly I'm glad this has turned out to be really boring. I can save some money
