One synth to rule them all, sort of implies that NI is about to take on Omnisphere launching a synth take incorporates all kind of synthesis into one shiny dream machine.

But when the product is unveiled, it doesn't match the hype:

"MONARK captures the pure organic sound of the undisputed king of monophonic analog synthesizers."

Monark is no doubt a capable synth, but NI should have used less "false advertising", that is what have created the negative comments in the thread today...

The Minimoog is not itself the undisputed King of monophonic synths...

Re-inventing the wheel

that he is just one who disagrees is enough to make a nonsense of using the word "undisputed"...he is one disputor, enjoying his right to dispute at kvr - home of the disputed

I'm not doing another reaktor synth. I had a ton of trouble with razor on my system and don't want to go through that again. I'm assuming that like razor, this is not going to have a demo? Edit, I see they raised the price of razor. I wonder what this will cost?

:-)
what criteria are you using to judge it or you weren't being serious?
Clearly the Modular can do stuff the mini can't do.....but there is a reason why the minimoog is probably the most emulated analog monosynth.

But I am sure you were jesting. :-)

I don't think you understand the concept of 'supply and demand too well'. Why would paying customers' opinions not matter?

So people should buy the product before making a decision to buy it? Most people make decisions as to whether they should buy something based on a description of the product...

Oh, and you might want to read the forum rules before you start butting into threads and calling people "stupid"
1. understand the concept perfectly. your assuming every one in the thread is a potential customer, and not random people just trying to show their superiority by dismissing a product before acutally experiencing it :o

2. ya, cause thats exactly what i said. i dont think you understand the concept of "demos" too well :hihi:

actually, anyone who actually expected a marketing tag like (especially that grandiose) to be a straight up fact doesnt deserve to have that brain of theirs that there no using. its not NIs fault that people blantantly expect an actual "one synth to rule them all".. it says more about the people who actually waited for their saviour-synth to come than NIs marketing team (which apparently did an amazing job, and i feel like people are almost embarassed that they let themselves get carried away by one line of advertising)

plus no one know if it doesnt match the hype. the very same people are so quick to dismiss is as they were to buy into the marketing. dont blame NI people, blame yourselves. this synth is probably awesome in its own right, it also might not be, but you cant say shit unless you actually used it for yourself. the people complaining just dont have the ability to THINK FOR THEMSELVES : first the get all crazed and driven by a simple marketing line with blind religious zeal, only to totally dismiss it off of compressed youtube/demo recordings of OTHER PEOPLE. god forbid they actually do something themselves

Good spotting, it's gone up from $79 to $99.

I guess to match the price of Monark...

You think there'll be a demo... for a Reaktor ensemble?

I wasn't joking, but it is all in good fun...

The Mini was a hardwired subset and far more popular due to ease of use and being much cheaper, smaller and transportable. The Mini did more to make synthesis popular.

But for sheer sound capability and grandeur (royalty), it is the Moog Modular.

Plus if offered the choice of the two, there is no question which I would take... :)
