Can't use external drum samples

Have you listened to what we have managed to do without samples? You should give it a try, or if you ask nicely some of these folks will share presets they have made... don't give up!

I just want to know how far I can get with a real simple, but nevertheless good sounding synth. This track will be more a test for me for sound design than composition.

Has anyone else encountered a bug when automating pitch-bend (using U-NO-62), when I use the pitch bend CC# , it drags out the note longer than it should- quite noticeably.

It is amazing how can you extract many sounds just from layering a noise, a square and a sawtooth as Tal-Uno-62 is all about.

Yup! It's all about layers and some smart eq.

I have never used the 62, but maybe the contest should have been limited to the 62 from the very start to make things fair and simple... I mean, since this contest is in the instruments section, it is obviously about showcasing a particular synth and what one can do with it.

I got the LX version, FYI it's VERY VERY similar to the free 62 version - Half my instances are the free. The other half I took advantage of some extra MIDI control velocity/vcf options, and the vcf modulation. Forgot about the portamento... but it's only Mono portamento.

LX should not have much advantage.

I've used my favorite reverb - Reverb 3 for a long time, and it was nice to support the developer.

Hey evo2slo, how does Cubase 7 work for you? What were you using before, and how is it better?

Always have used Cubase since I started recording, so I'm just used to it. Only other ones I've tried are Pro Tools, Logic, and Reaper but none of them clicked with me the way that Cubase does. I like how easy it is sidechaining with the built in plugs and I find the automation very fast and intuitive to set up. Lots of things I like about the 7 upgrade. Text search for plugs and tracks has quickened my workflow, and I love the channel strip - though the interface within the mixer is pretty clunky, I far prefer using it in the channel view. Can't say enough about the channel view, it's really nice. Great being able to set up and load send effects directly from the track.
I think of my DAW as an instrument, so it's all about feeling comfortable and like it's an extension of yourself. Cubase does that for me, but maybe just because I've been using it for a while.

Haha, trust me they're not all playing at the same time. My computer is over 6 years old and it was on it's knees begging to be put out of its misery.
