Glooper – More guitares :D. I have a feeling that the vox somehow needed to be lifted a tad in the verses. The first chorus everything seems in balance, but in the verses and second chorus when the electric guitar kicks in it seems to draw the energy out of the vox. Hmmmm, then again I have strange ears. I liked this sound, although its not directly my cup of tea.....
Cheers for the review Mystahr :). When recording the vocals It took loads of takes before I eventualy got a mix where my voice sounded at least vaguely in tune! So it doesn't surprise me that the dynamics is not entirely correct. I did try and correct a lot of dynamics during mixing ... but listening to the song now, a week later, with fresh ears, I can still hear lots of problems! and lots of out of tune bits :( ... I think I'll stick to just the guitar next month...

Ahh, dont worry about it. It sounded alright to me. Pretty good song. Your voice reminds me of... uh, dare I say Roland Orzabal from Tears for Fears or one of those dreadfully skinny British bands with the black cloths and funny hair from the 80's. Personally, I like that - especially compared to today's crop of crooners. If you don't sing, how would we think we get to know you? Good lyric too.

...Or was I thinking of OMD, or Echo and the Bunnymen?

Anyway, like I said - your voice is fine...

(I just like saying "Roland Orzabal") :D

Why thank you you. :D.

Aye, nice wee pop song there glooper, your voice reminds me a bit of that bloke fron the inspiral carpets (but it may have just been the 'baggy' rhythm influencing me :D ). Sound a bit hesitant, but in tune. Abit of double tracking in the choruses would have worked well I reckon.

Hey Mystahr, that's a cool song man! 8)

For the video you should have slow-motion mud wrestling.

Well, there's nowt to stop us running it as a parallel contest. That's what it was the first time, a bit of a larf between me and sleek, but it got co-opted as the official contest.

Sason – Thats the great thing about the free for all. You never know what to expect, and so I get thrown into some delicious funk. It most certainly brings back that fonky feel. I must say I’m amazed as you have the various instruments in a great groove. Cool piece of work, and I wouldn’t worry too much about that breakdown. Makes it only more funky and interesting too.
Thanks for the good word!
I am proud that I managed to record my mandolin, that my grandfather made, into the funk groove :D
Check yours later, its late, no time :o
In the begining was nothing...
Which exploded...

Hi Sason, thank you very much for your comments regarding the song I posted for the contest ( The Tupac remix ) :)

I downloaded yours but can't seem to open it in any program. How do I convert an Ogg? I have db poweramp but it seems to only convert the other way around.

:)

Can't FL Studio play OGG files? You could just throw it in there. Thanks for the comments on my track. You did a nice job bringing Tupac back.

Post

Thanks Eric. Well ya, FL Studio does play ogg. What is unusual here is that when I add a sampler or audio clip and then click on the little folder to browse for the wav, Fl doesn't see it. I downloaded the ogg to my desktop, but when I show that path in FL, it's not seeing the ogg file.

PS: Even the browser in fl doesn;t see it. I think that the ogg files in FL have wav extensions whereas this one has an ogg extension.
